Chapter 73: Reality
“No.” Ye Nianchu looked at Shen Yan, “Shen Yan, if it’s okay, you can head back now. I still have something to take care of here.”
“Sister.”
What Shen Yan wanted to say was, can’t you see that this person isn’t right?
He clearly did it on purpose.
On the surface, he seems delicate.
But he’s actually not a good person.
Before he could say anything, Ye Nianchu seemed to anticipate what he was going to say. With a look, he didn’t dare to speak up and reluctantly pursed his lips.
After Shen Yan left, Qin Mubai smiled and brought up the game, “Sister, have you heard of the organization ‘Z’?”
He looked very different from the innocent demeanor he had just shown.
“Not many know about it.” Ye Nianchu recalled that many players didn’t even know about this organization with its rather random name.
“Unlike the Shadow Alliance, they are powerful but mysterious.”
“Sister seems to know the Shadow Alliance very well,” Qin Mubai’s voice was faint.
“It’s true. I’ve teamed up with them before.” Ye Nianchu said lightly, “You should have guessed that I have a ‘double’ prop.”
The item that so many S-rank players have been searching for with great effort is in her possession.
The ‘stand-in’ prop wasn’t available in the system mall but dropped from the game. When the initial player forum announcement came out, everyone was buzzing.
The game’s only ‘stand-in’ prop is Ye Nianchu’s backup.
Owners can avoid one death, but there is a price for using it.
Qin Mubai’s eyes widened slightly; he guessed that it was impossible to transfer the ability of an S-ranked player, even if the owner died.
The only possible exception, combined with her obviously limited strength, is a problem with a ‘stand-in’ prop that no one has seen before.
“This prop does give players one more chance, but it’s a bit pitiful in some ways.” Ye Nianchu continued, “I originally thought it was just going back to the pre-liberation era, but I didn’t expect it to also make my abilities disappear like props.”
She looked a bit puzzled.
The props she earned from fighting bosses with great effort ended up making her seem like a boss, or a boss that drops S-class abilities.
It’s simply frustrating.
No one, including herself, knew about this beforehand. Otherwise, she would have been the one everyone was shouting at.
A walking S ability.
She would have been tempted too.
Qin Mubai frowned; although she spoke casually, her words sounded unsettling.
He put down his teacup, a coldness spreading under his eyes.
“The injuries my sister suffered in the last game were carried over into reality.”
Ye Nianchu smiled with a casual ‘hmm,’ looking unconcerned.
Half a year ago, her trip abroad for recovery wasn’t a secret. Given the information exposed today, Qin Mubai’s insight was not surprising.
“Why did you suddenly mention the organization ‘Z’?” Ye Nianchu changed the subject.
Qin Mubai smiled gently, “I want to ask if sister is interested in joining?”
Ye Nianchu was a bit surprised, “Is it suitable?”
From what I understand, although there aren’t many members in this organization, every member is a core elite, with B-rank players being the minimum, right?”
Qin Mubai side-eyed and smiled, “Suitable.”
Even if it’s a new player, it’s still appropriate in his case.
Not to mention the unquestionable strength of the first batch of S-Class players.
“Then I’ll consider it.”
“Good.”
---
At 6:00 p.m. sharp.
Ye Nianchu entered the hotel room right on time, not a minute too early.
The person inside had been waiting for a long time. As soon as she entered, the impatience on their face quickly vanished and was replaced with a warm smile.
“Nian Nian is here. The food hasn’t been ordered yet; please choose what you want to eat.”
