Chapter 72: Reality
“Miss, here's what you asked for.” The assistant handed over the bag while sneaking a glance inside the door.
He had brought clothes—men's clothes.
Early in the morning, before the mall even opened, they had prepared these clothes as requested by the Miss, following her personal message sent the night before. Naturally, the mall staff dared not be negligent.
It felt like he had stumbled upon something extraordinary.
Who is this person?
The book’s overbearing CEO and her little love interest?
He seemed to read a lot of those clumsy son-in-law stories.
Elder Ye had mentioned that Miss could find a well-controlled partner.
As he was thinking, he met Ye Nianchu’s calm gaze, and the assistant shuddered, no longer daring to be curious. "If you have no other instructions, I'll leave now."
After saying that, he quickly disappeared from Ye Nianchu’s sight, as if something was chasing him.
Ye Nianchu took the bag upstairs and knocked on the door. The teenager inside had just finished washing up, his black hair half-dried, looking clean and noble like the wind and moon.
"Come down for breakfast later."
Ye Nianchu handed him the bag and, without waiting for a response, turned and went downstairs.
Her quick movement left Qin Mubai, who was in the room, slightly stunned.
Downstairs, Ye Nianchu answered a phone call.
"Nian Nian, I have something for you. Are you free for dinner today?"
Ye Nianchu smiled silently, her eyes darkening, "Sure, 6 pm."
She wanted to see what that family was up to.
Qin Mubai changed into his new clothes, and they had breakfast together.
"I remember you said there are no such things as teammates with you."
"That’s right." Qin Mubai smiled, "Sister is sister."
It’s different from what she had imagined.
Ye Nianchu had returned to investigate situations in the survival game and probably understood how dangerous the teenager in front of her was.
She was one of the first S-Class players, having been in the survival game for two years, with a six-month break in between.
Qin Mubai couldn’t have been in the game for too long, or she would have known about him given his strength.
Finding him was like discovering a real treasure.
So, she's off the rails?
---
In the afternoon, Shen Yan entered the tea room and saw two people sitting inside. At first, he thought he was hallucinating and rubbed his eyes vigorously.
The people were still there.
So, who is this man?
Where did he come from?
Shen Yan looked at Qin Mubai warily. The man’s face seemed like an old sea king pretending to be simple, and his eyes were even more captivating!
He had never seen such a person before.
Shen Yan wanted to speak but hesitated, thinking for a while, just about to say something.
Ye Nianchu looked up, "What brings you here?"
Shen Yan swallowed his words. Since his sister had brought someone here, it was clearly not ordinary.
When had he ever seen her bring an outsider here?
"My mom sent me to deliver something." He took out a simple, ancient-looking invitation letter and placed it in front of Ye Nianchu. "University A’s school celebration. I heard it’s being given special attention this year."
Shen Yan’s mother, Ye Nianchu’s aunt, is a professor at University A. Every year, the school invites outstanding graduates from previous years to the celebration.
Ye Nianchu glanced at the time on the invitation, "Alright, I'll go if I have time."
After Shen Yan sat down, he continued to scrutinize Qin Mubai, feeling that this person might have ulterior motives.
For someone like him, Shen Yan had to find a way to make him back off.
The more Shen Yan looked, the more suspicious he became.
Yet, Qin Mubai remained calm and composed, with his smile never fading.
Qin Mubai raised his eyes, his voice consistently pleasant, “Sister, am I interrupting your conversation?”
Shen Yan paused. Sister?
He called his sister "sister" right in front of him?
