The two S-level players from the Shadow Alliance have leveled up to Level 1, and five A-level players have advanced to S-level players in this game.

Early in the morning.

Ye Nianchu received a phone call from Assistant Zhang while having breakfast. His tone sounded urgent. “Miss, there’s been an incident with the Xu family. It’s likely…”

“What happened?”

“The Xie family from M continent suddenly intervened and helped the Xu family. The Xie family has substantial assets, but their main market is no longer domestic. I don’t know how the Xu family got involved with them, but I’ve also received news that the Xie family is coming to A City soon.”

Ye Nianchu’s expression remained unchanged, but her eyes grew colder. “All previous plans are to be halted immediately. Find out who’s in charge of the Xie family and send me the information.”

Assistant Zhang was taken aback. “Halt everything? You’ve been preparing for so long…”

Ye Nianchu lightly tapped her cup, suppressing her impatience, and said indifferently, “It’s time to cut losses with a useless piece.”

Her grandfather used to say she wasn’t patient enough.

And he was right.

She intended to use this opportunity to trace the whereabouts of the Shadow Alliance, an outcome she had anticipated, but saying to stop the plans regarding the Xu family still bothered her.

The Xu family could rely on some forces, but they had someone who could.

A University has a long history and is one of the top institutions in the city. On the day of the anniversary celebration, it was bustling and lively.

“Chu Yao, did you see? Standing next to Professor Ye is our senior, Ye Nianchu.” A long-haired girl turned to her companion outside the auditorium.

“Born into a prestigious family, she’s the niece of Professor Ye, took over the family business at eighteen, and has stunning looks. I just want to say, ‘Sister, I can do it!’”

Xu Chu Yao glanced over and lowered her eyes. “Her background is indeed impressive.”

Her mother was the eldest daughter of the Ye family, and her grandfather was a once-renowned figure in the business world.

Even when they were in a dire situation, the Ye family was still behind them.

And she had always lived in the shadow of the other.

With the crisis in the Xu family resolved, Ye Nianchu’s efforts seemed wasted, and in the end, it must be hard to swallow. Besides, the person helping them was someone Ye Nianchu knew.

Thinking of this, Xu Chu Yao couldn’t help but smile.

Her companion didn’t notice the subtle change in her mood and continued, “Not only is her background impressive, but Ye Nianchu is also very capable. She graduated early last year with top grades in her major.”

“Hey, Chu Yao, why do I feel like you two have similar eyes? Is that the common trait of beautiful people?”

Xu Chu Yao gave a perfunctory smile and changed the subject. “Let’s go.”

“Okay.”

The two turned and walked in opposite directions.

After attending the anniversary ceremony, Ye Nianchu left with her aunt Ye Jin, passing by the school’s scenic lake to get to the parking lot and office.

The man beside them was impeccably dressed, exuding charm, and glanced at Ye Nianchu several times while chatting with Ye Jin.

“Nian Nian, are you going back now?”

Ye Jin, in her forties but looking like she was in her thirties, had an air of elegance.

“Yeah, I have some things to do.”

“Alright, when you have time, come over for dinner at your aunt’s place. I’ll cook myself.”

Before she could finish, Shen Yan interrupted, “You’ll cook yourself? Or you’ll supervise me while I cook?”

Ye Jin shot him a glance and continued holding Ye Nianchu’s hand. “You just got back. Don’t spend all your time working at home; take some time to rest.”

“Aunt, I understand. Don’t worry.”

Translation Update! 🍙 Translation Update! 🍙 ✨ Quick note: English isn't my first language, so please understand there might be some typos or awkward phrasing - I'm doing my best! ✨ Hey everyone, just a quick update: As of today, April 28, 2025 , I want to give you all a heads-up about a few small issues you might come across in the story, specifically with some of the prop names. It's not exactly a typo issue—it's more about changes I've made over time. For instance, I originally used the term 'data concealment number' but later changed it to 'number concealment data.' Since these are just prop names in the story, it's not a major issue for the plot, but I totally get that some of you might find it a little annoying if you're really particular about details. ...

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...
