After exchanging pleasantries, Ye Nianchu parted ways with them. The man followed behind. “Miss Ye, I’m also going to the parking lot. Let’s go together.”

Out of politeness, Ye Nianchu responded courteously but distantly.

Shen Yan behind them shook his head with an inscrutable expression. “Mom, your prized student is not up to par. With the level of that little flower from my sister’s house, he’s way out of her league.”

He certainly couldn’t be added to his sister's circle of friends.

“What little flower?” Ye Jin asked, surprised.

“Some unknown person who’s currently living with my sister. He’s quite young,” Shen Yan said, waiting for his mother to reveal the person.

He had always felt something was off about him.

Pretending to be innocent and delicate, he was probably just trying to scheme against his sister.

Getting the elders involved, he felt rather clever.

“Young?” Ye Jin frowned. “Is he of age?”

This question left Shen Yan stunned for a while. Shouldn’t the focus be on that person?

“He should be of age.”

“Hmm, that’s a principle issue. Nian Nian has her own opinions, and I trust her taste in people.”

Though she said this, it didn’t stop Ye Jin from texting Ye Nianchu: [Next time you come to Aunt’s house, bring him along.]

“...” Shen Yan looked at his mom’s message, confused. “You really trust her that much? You haven’t even met the person!”

“This is just to let her bring someone back to help keep an eye on him. Your sister rarely wants to get close to anyone. Plus, she’s always been decisive and sensible in her actions, much more reliable than you,” Ye Jin said, shaking her head at her son.

Shen Yan: Am I just a bonus child or something?

---

The weather outside was beautiful, with a gentle breeze and warm sunlight.

Inside the car, Qin Mubai turned off his phone and leaned back.

His sister seemed to be investigating the forces of the Shadow Alliance.

Not far away, a familiar figure walked slowly towards them, wearing a plain, elegant qipao. Her long hair was styled up, and the bracelet on her wrist highlighted her porcelain-like skin, complemented by her delicate makeup and slim waist—like a painting.

There was someone beside her.

Qin Mubai’s gaze lowered slightly, a chill passing through his calm eyes.

Xue Nan looked at Ye Nianchu beside him. She didn’t initiate conversation during their walk; she only responded politely when he brought up a topic.

Though he knew he probably wouldn’t get her contact information, he still wanted to try.

Before Xue Nan could speak, the car door opened, and Qin Mubai leaned down to greet Ye Nianchu. “Sister.”

“Have you been waiting long?” Ye Nianchu smiled lightly.

“Not long.” Qin Mubai’s eyes curved into a bright smile, captivating enough to catch the attention of passing girls.

Ye Nianchu looked away and pulled Qin Mubai back into the car.

“Sister, there are many people with ulterior motives outside, especially those who might have their eyes on you.” Qin Mubai leaned in to buckle her seatbelt. “If you’re looking for a partner, you need to be especially careful.”

If she didn’t pay attention, he could take care of those people for her.

Ye Nianchu paused. “Hmm, I’m not looking.”

As for anyone scheming against her, whether in the game or in reality, she didn’t think anyone could manage it.

Qin Mubai’s lips curled slightly. “Then I can relax.”

The more Ye Nianchu looked at him, the more she felt he was sensible and mature. Meeting him in the game was undoubtedly the luckiest moment for her.

“You’re still so young; shouldn’t I be the one saying to relax?”

Qin Mubai’s grip on the steering wheel paused slightly, narrowing his eyes. “Sister, I’m not a child anymore.”

He needed to do something to make her realize he was no child at all.

Translation Update! 🍙 Translation Update! 🍙 ✨ Quick note: English isn't my first language, so please understand there might be some typos or awkward phrasing - I'm doing my best! ✨ Hey everyone, just a quick update: As of today, April 28, 2025 , I want to give you all a heads-up about a few small issues you might come across in the story, specifically with some of the prop names. It's not exactly a typo issue—it's more about changes I've made over time. For instance, I originally used the term 'data concealment number' but later changed it to 'number concealment data.' Since these are just prop names in the story, it's not a major issue for the plot, but I totally get that some of you might find it a little annoying if you're really particular about details. ...

cysvhhz Chapter 1

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...
