“Are there any other injuries?” Ye Nianchu asked.
Qin Mubai paused, then slowly nodded, looking a bit upset.
“Where are you hurt? I can help.”
He stayed silent for a moment, then looked down and picked up the saline solution. “I’ll do it myself.”
Ye Nianchu chuckled lightly, “No need to be nervous. Xiao Yan once fell into mud and was too scared to go home; I helped clean his wounds.”
Back then, her methods were rough, but she had improved.
Qin Mubai’s smile faded slightly. “Sister, there are differences between men and women.”
Even as her younger brother, he wanted to be cautious.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Ye Nianchu nodded and took the medicine from him. “If the wound isn’t treated, it could get infected.”
His injury was on his left side, more serious than his hand, but thankfully, it didn’t need stitches. There was no anesthesia here; Ye Nianchu once stitched her own wound in the game without it, and it hurt a lot.
As her breath brushed against him, Qin Mubai’s hand trembled slightly.
“What’s wrong? Does it hurt?” Ye Nianchu noticed he stiffened.
“No,” he replied, his voice heavy.
Ye Nianchu continued applying medicine with a cotton swab. “If it hurts, tell me, and I’ll be gentler.”
Qin Mubai smiled faintly and agreed softly.
His tone was gentle, but he seemed strong, not at all like someone injured. Maybe being close made her want to pull him nearer.
He didn’t seem to care much about his injury; she was the one more worried.
“All done.” Ye Nianchu packed up the medicine and began setting up the tent.
“Sister, let me help,” Qin Mubai said, taking the supplies from her.
“What happened to the boat in front?”
Ye Nianchu didn’t sit idle; she checked their surroundings with a knife.
“During a supply scramble, someone’s blood fell into the river and attracted piranhas. There are three S-rank players on the boat. I took half of the supplies. The front boat had fewer medical supplies but slightly more food and water.”
By “more,” she meant two extra bottles of water and four packs of instant noodles.
Three S-rank players meant the front boat was stronger, which explained why they hadn’t secured any weapons.
On the back boat, only He Miao was an S-rank player, and she hid her strength well.
With fewer supplies and more players, conflicts were likely.
Players with high ranks would become targets. If they didn’t compete for supplies now, survival would be tough. After three days without food and drinking dirty water, they wouldn’t have the strength to escape. With luck, they might survive long enough to earn 100 points; without it, they’d just give points to others.
As they talked, Qin Mubai set up the tent carefully.
The tent was small, just enough for two or three people.
Ye Nianchu bent down to gather dry leaves and branches. “Didn’t your boat have a tent?”
Qin Mubai remained calm. “No.”
That was surprising. She felt a bit sorry for the players on the front boat.
Sleeping without a tent here could mean dealing with snakes, insects, or rodents at night.
Dappled sunlight filtered through the leaves, and sounds of birds and insects filled the air. A venomous cobra coiled on a tree trunk, raising its head, cold eyes fixed on them, ready to attack.
