The police car roared as it sped Lin Yao toward the police station.

It wasn’t until he was in the car that Lin Yao realized there were not only the two police officers but also a friendly-looking young man.

Meeting Lin Yao’s gaze, the young man smiled at him and nodded, his eyes curved in a way that made him appear very kind.

However, at that moment, as he met the young man’s smiling eyes, a chill wrapped around Lin Yao's heart like a tight grip.

In that instant, Lin Yao’s mind went blank.

The alarm bells in his head rang wildly, desperately warning him to stay away from this source of danger, but his body froze in fear, unable to move.

“Classmate, are you okay?”

Amid the confusion, a voice suddenly broke through, waking Lin Yao from his daze.

“...Huh?! No, I'm fine...”

Lin Yao said, still dazed and clearly not recovered from the shock he had just experienced.

“As long as you’re okay.”

The young police officer sitting next to him sighed upon seeing this, his gaze toward Lin Yao filled with complexity.

Borrowing money at high interest to satisfy unrealistic desires is wrong, but what’s worse are those who lend at high interest.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but glare fiercely at the smiling Xiao Si, his expression serious as he said, “Get ready; we’re almost there.”

Ha, what a coward.

Seeing Lin Yao, who was shaking like a leaf, Xiao Si felt great joy.

Smiling back at the officer who glared at him, Xiao Si obediently turned his head away.

Such a timid person, and he’s gone and picked on someone he shouldn’t have—tch, such bad luck...

The more he thought about it, the more amused he became. Sitting on the side, he swayed his head and laughed non-stop, completely carefree despite the strange looks from the others in the car.

Once they got out of the car, they walked toward the police station.

Along the way, the two police officers shot Xiao Si unfriendly glances.

They clearly knew what Xiao Si was up to, but since he “followed the law” and never engaged in illegal activities, they couldn’t find anything to pin on him, only able to vent their frustration by glaring at him.

Compared to the “lost sheep” Lin Yao, their hostility toward Xiao Si was even greater.

As they entered, the police station was bustling with activity.

The investigation team had stayed up all night and finally picked out several possible victims from the numerous passersby on the surveillance footage.

Quickly sketching out their appearances, Xiao Wang clutched the sketches and rushed toward the records room, his face unable to hide his excitement.

The case finally had some progress! They were one step closer to the truth! They needed to catch the perpetrator soon and restore peace to society…

Bang—

Around the corner, Xiao Wang, running at full speed, collided directly with Lin Yao and his group.

The two bodies collided violently; Xiao Wang staggered back two steps, while Lin Yao fell directly to the ground.

“Sorry, classmate! Are you okay? Let me help you up, classmate… classmate?!”

Seeing Lin Yao’s pale face and terrified expression, Xiao Wang followed his line of sight and his expression suddenly grew serious.

“Classmate, do you know her?”

“...Huh?!”

Hearing this, Lin Yao jolted awake from his daze. He instinctively shook his head wildly, his denial shaky.

“I don’t know! Who is she? I don’t know her!”

Seeing this, Xiao Wang exchanged a glance with the police officer standing behind Lin Yao, whose expression was also quite serious. Then, he turned back to Lin Yao with a smile.

“It’s okay if you don’t know her. Come on, classmate, cooperate with our investigation. We have a few questions we want to ask you.”

At those words, Lin Yao, whose face was already as white as paper, paled even further. His lips lost all color while his eyes began to redden.

“What investigation? I’m not going! I’m innocent! I don’t know that horrible bitch!!”

“Oh, you don’t even know what the investigation is, yet you’re shouting that you’re innocent? What if the police just want you to identify a suspect?”

Seeing Lin Yao’s strange reaction, Xiao Si instantly grew excited and began to taunt him with a smile.

“You still say you don’t know her? You used such an insulting term for her; I see you two must have a good relationship.”

“You’re talking nonsense!!”

Lin Yao's eyes were blood-red, flashing with a ferocious light as he looked at Xiao Si, his gaze filled with rage and coldness.

"Watch your mouth! Or else..."

"Or else what do you want to do?"

With a firm grip, Xiao Wang restrained the agitated Lin Yao, who was flushed with anger, and said expressionlessly, "Come with me for a moment, classmate. I suspect you are involved in a case that happened a few days ago."

...

Lin Yao's personality was extreme, often either timid or overly aggressive, prone to impulsive behavior.

Sitting in the interrogation room, faced with professional questioning techniques, Lin Yao initially tried to put on a brave front but quickly broke down.

After telling the first lie, the inconsistencies in his subsequent statements grew larger. As he continued to fabricate stories, he eventually became tongue-tied, inadvertently revealing various details.

In the end, he sat there, trembling and in tears, refusing to answer any questions with a distorted expression.

However, enough questions had been asked already.

Xiao Li, taking notes, expressionlessly closed his notebook and looked at Lin Yao with disgust.

This child, still so young, first took a girlfriend from the social circle for the sake of face; then, out of vanity, borrowed money to buy her various luxury goods; finally, after accumulating too much debt and arguing with his girlfriend, he impulsively committed murder; after the act, he calmly handled all the aftermath and lived comfortably for so long...

Shaking his head, Xiao Li glanced at Lin Yao, who was still refusing to communicate, and signaled a colleague to call Lin Yao's parents to come over.

Of course, since Lin Yao was already over 14, he was criminally liable for intentional homicide, and notifying his parents meant they needed to seek a lawyer.

Xiao Li looked at Lin Yao, whose expression showed no remorse or guilt but only unwillingness and resentment, and couldn't help shaking his head again.

This child was fundamentally lost...

Due to this incident, Xiao Si was released from the police station shortly after the case was filed.

It was noon, and the sun was scorching the earth, casting very few shadows on the street.

Xiao Si quickly walked to an isolated spot and took out his phone to give some instructions to his subordinates.

After finishing his instructions, he closed the phone with satisfaction, smacked his lips, and was filled with amazement.

To be this reckless, to be this unlucky—this was the first time he had seen it. The level of misfortune was as if they were cursed...

After reveling in the misfortune for a moment, a thought suddenly flashed through Xiao Si's mind about what Zhang Laosan had told him before.

Could it really be that sinister...?

Shivering slightly and hesitating, Xiao Si eventually pulled out his phone with a serious expression and called Zhang Laosan.

In the Wang family's villa, Lin Wan had no idea that the bad luck curse he had casually drawn before had quietly produced such significant effects.

Putting aside all distractions, Lin Wan was seriously focused on the elderly teacher in front of him, rapidly absorbing the knowledge he was teaching.

The elderly teacher was also very excited.

Private tutoring like this was rarely initiated willingly; most students were forced to sit there by their parents and study hard. Therefore, when he was initially invited with high pay to tutor, the teacher was prepared for the students to complain about him.

To his surprise, seeing the eagerness of his pupil, the teacher was amazed. Once the tutoring started, the speed of learning was astonishing.

This was a good seedling; how could it be wasted like this?

Looking at Lin Wan, who was learning quickly and energetically, the elderly teacher felt a surge of passion.

This was a good student, and he could not be wasted!

Rolling up his sleeves, the two continued to study without a break throughout the morning. If not for Wang Fu's timely reminder that it was nearly lunchtime, they would have kept going.

"My goodness, does Master study so obsessively?"

Wang Gaofei was utterly shocked, watching the two who hadn’t even taken a bathroom break the entire morning.

"You’d better not show me your phone while studying this afternoon, or I’ll install a signal jammer at home."

As the saying goes, without comparison, there is no harm.

Seeing the obedient and diligent Lin Wan and then looking at his lazy son, who was always slacking off and refusing to study, Wang Fu's hair nearly stood on end from frustration.

Wang Gaofei looked at the distressed teacher coming over to tutor him again and then at the young professor, who had happily walked toward Lin Wan after asking for help, feeling completely overwhelmed.

"Dad, wake up! I really am not cut out for studying!"

Frustrated by his lackadaisical son, Wang Fu felt the muscles on his face twitching, rubbing his chest, and looked towards Lin Wan with a troubled expression.

Seeing that they were about to enter study mode again, Wang Fu hurried over to stop them.

"Mr. Lin, come, come, come; let’s eat first. It’s almost time. You can study after lunch!"

Pulled away from the studying mindset, Lin Wan was greeted by an extremely tempting aroma of food.

Taking a deep breath, he swallowed the words of refusal about "studying first" and silently followed Wang Fu to the dining table.

The two teachers stated that they needed to discuss the tutoring plan, so only Lin Wan and the Wang family father and son were left at the table.

Looking at Lin Wan enjoying his meal, Wang Fu hesitated for a long time before finally speaking tentatively after Lin Wan set down his bowl.

"Um, Mr. Lin, please have a seat. I need to discuss something with you..."

That evening, after washing up and smelling fresh, Luo Zixuan, dressed only in a loose robe, received a disheartened Lin Wan in the space.

"Qingqing?"

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post

Jiang Yan was awakened by the mechanical broadcast of the main system. In the desolate mountain forest blanketed by thick snow, a mechanical voice echoed: [Dungeon: "Sheep's Forest," Progress: 20%] [Player: Li Xue, Escape Progress: 50%] The distant sky was a heavy gray, surrounded by gnarled black branches resembling the haunting spirits of a graveyard. Amid the howling wind, there seemed to be the growls of wild beasts. At this moment, Jiang Yan was asleep in the loft of a small wooden cabin deep in the forest, covered with a duck down comforter and lying on a soft velvet blanket. The fireplace in the room was burning brightly, filling the air with the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts, while the raging wind and snow outside were of no concern to him. "Why has the dungeon progress still only been 20% after five days? How many are left alive now?" Jiang Yan nestled deeper into the comforter, lazily asking. "Oh, Ancestor, you’re awake?" the syst

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door

On the weekend, it was time for the second-year students of the School of Science to move dormitories. The hallway on the third floor of Building Seven was bustling with noise, filled with voices, footsteps, and the clattering of suitcase wheels rolling over the floor, creating a chaotic and irritating atmosphere. Lu Yuxing’s daily necessities were mostly simple, so he didn’t have many belongings. Aside from his bed, he managed to pack everything into a few large boxes. He finished organizing his things earlier than the other two and pushed his suitcase to Dorm 323 ahead of time. Dorm 323 had previously been occupied by fourth-year students. After the seniors graduated in July, it remained empty, which saved Lu Yuxing and his friends a lot of hassle when changing dorms. The dorm was quite empty; apart from some dust on the desk and bed, it was overall clean. The large tiled floor was very accommodating for those with obsessive-compulsive tendencies, perfectly fitting the preferences

Shang Jue pushed Lu Yuxing down from his chest. Lu Yuxing wrapped his arms around his waist, keeping him in place. “I’ll be careful this time,” he said, lowering his head again to kiss him gently for a long time. After what felt like an eternity, they parted. Shang Jue noticed Lu Yuxing's flushed face and damp lips up close, feeling a sudden awkwardness. He cleared his throat. Kissing a dog with memories feels different. Lu Yuxing warmly held him, a smile curling at the corners of his lips. Shang Jue couldn’t help but doubt whether the person in front of him was the same as half an hour ago. He raised his hands, pinching Lu Yuxing’s cheeks and pulling at them. Remembering that he was still carrying a pot on his back, he started to unhappily hold him accountable. “You said I was fishing for you. What exactly did I do to fish you?” Lu Yuxing hadn’t expected Shang Jue to bring this up at that moment. As Shang Jue tugged at his face, Lu Yuxing tilted his head but didn’t break
