cysvhhz Chapter 6

[Because of the sanity value I suppose]

[After all this is a D-level dungeon]

[On the surface, it seems so... But I’m surprised he actually told someone]

Gu Zhan ate quickly, leaving the cafeteria before most people.

Naptime didn’t start until after twelve, and after finishing their meals, the others didn’t return to their rooms either. Instead, they took the opportunity to search for clues elsewhere.

As expected, Gu Zhan was the first—and the only—one to return to the room.

He walked straight to the wall and knocked on the plaster: “Is anyone there?”

[??? What is he doing?]

[Initiating contact with an NPC? It would be strange if the NPC responded!]

But the next second, the scene changed. Gu Zhan’s vision went dark, and he was pulled into the wall by a little girl.

Probably realizing she couldn’t scare Gu Zhan, the little girl wiped the blood off her face. To Gu Zhan’s surprise, she was quite pretty, with delicate features and big, watery eyes.

She sat in the corner of the wall, hugging a doll, and looked up wide-eyed: “What do you want to do?”

“Just want to chat,” Gu Zhan said, sitting down beside the little girl. He rummaged in his pocket for a while and pulled out a candy, handing it to her.

The little girl: “…”

Perhaps life inside the wall was too boring; she accepted the candy. “Let’s chat.”

Gu Zhan asked, “Have you always been here? How long have you lived here?”

The little girl chewed on the candy as she said, “I don’t know; there are no clocks here. It’s been a long, long time… Ever since my mom left, I’ve been here.”

[Damn, he really got her to talk!]

[This NPC can actually communicate? If I had known this during my dungeon run…]

[Ah well, no use regretting it, guys. We didn’t even find the side quest back then, let alone talk to the NPC!]

[True enough]

Gu Zhan continued, “You have a mom?”

“Yeah.” The little girl, innocently chewing her candy, replied, “I’m not Sun Wukong; of course I have a mom… Don’t you?”

[…The NPC just asked about your mom.]

[Such a small child with such sweet words.]

Gu Zhan remained calm: “I don’t have one.”

“Eh?” The little girl was surprised. “Did you pop out from a crack in a rock?”

Gu Zhan explained, “No, but the person who gave birth to me didn’t want me anymore. She gave up on being my mom, so I don’t have one.”

The little girl innocently remarked, “Wow… that’s a bit sad.”

“Not sad.” Gu Zhan felt nothing about it; to him, it was just a part of the past.

This was probably one of the reasons why people often said he was “abnormal.” But it was fine here; no one thought he was abnormal because there were too many strange things in this world, and others didn’t have the energy to focus on him.

Gu Zhan took out a few patient records from his pocket and placed them in front of the little girl: “Is your name Xiao Ling? Look at these people; do you recognize anyone? Is one of them you?”

[When did he take the records out?!]

[If he took the records out, then Wen Ge’s punishment would have been for nothing!]

[Don’t be too confident. Whether Wen Dog can survive after going in is still uncertain. Not everyone who enters the punishment room can find clues!]

[True]

Xiao Ling studied the records for a while and shook her head: “It’s not me; I don’t know them.”

Gu Zhan pulled out another record: “How about this one?”

This was a record for a pregnant patient named Sun Jingqiu, who was eight months and two weeks pregnant upon admission and was about to give birth.

Her number was quite special; she was the only pregnant woman among over seven hundred patients.

Gu Zhan speculated that Xiao Ling was at a special age; she either came in at this age and had never aged due to the wall’s special energy or was born in this dungeon alongside her mother and had grown up year after year.

This pregnant woman, Sun Jingqiu, had coincidentally been admitted six years ago, aligning with Xiao Ling’s age.

Furthermore, Xiao Ling had just said that she had a mom.

Xiao Ling took the record and examined it carefully. After a long pause, she exclaimed, “Ah!”

Gu Zhan immediately looked at her. Xiao Ling said, “This is my mom!”

As expected.

Gu Zhan asked, “Do you remember what happened before you came here? Where were your mom and her companions?”

Xiao Ling hugged her red doll and stared at the photo, thinking for a long time before shaking her head.

She had transformed into a half-human, half-ghost creature shortly after birth, drawn by the wall’s special energy, and had no memories of her life as a human. She used to sneak out to play occasionally, but after her mom disappeared, she remained here, depending on her doll for companionship.

This outcome was what Gu Zhan had anticipated, and he wasn’t disappointed.

His time was limited; naptime was almost over, and the others would soon return.

Gu Zhan left the patient record with Xiao Ling and exited the wall space.

He timed his exit perfectly; as soon as he landed, the door to the room was pushed open by other players.

There were only three beds in this room. The hospital, of course, didn’t care if they were genuinely napping or where they napped; they only required them to stay in the room during lunchtime.

Gu Zhan lay on the bed next to the wall where Xiao Ling was. No one came over to talk to him; Wen Ge wasn’t there, and no one dared to provoke him.

Naptime quickly passed. After naptime, it was supposed to be quiz time.

But today, the quiz started early; after naptime, it was free time.

Gu Zhan wandered around the inpatient building and encountered Zhao Xiaoyue again.

She didn’t know what was going on and insisted that Gu Zhan was the key to clearing the dungeon, sticking close to him and chatting.

“Are you investigating the terrain? We’ve already checked everything. If you want to know something, just ask me.”

But Gu Zhan ignored her: “I can see for myself.”

Watching his retreating figure, Zhao Xiaoyue bit her lip in frustration.

Damn, why is he so stubborn!

Soon, Wen Ge would come out, and after he did, there wouldn’t be a chance to talk to Gu Zhan.

The layout of the inpatient building wasn’t complex. After walking around twice, Gu Zhan figured it out.

The first and second floors had the patient rooms and various nurse lounges, but most rooms were locked.

At the top of the stairs on the third floor was a sign that read “No Entry.”

Gu Zhan recalled what he had seen when he went to the cafeteria; this building only had windows on the third floor.

The people on the third floor must be very important.

Much more important than the head nurse.

He need to find a way up there.

Gu Zhan arrived at the stairway on the second floor, looking at the sign placed on the stairs.

"Authorized Personnel Only."

【??? What is he planning to do?】

【I have a bad feeling about this…】

【No way, no way, he wouldn't dare!】

【But from his perspective, this is the only way…】

As the viewers in the live stream were astonished, Gu Zhan indeed stepped up the stairs, wanting to test the waters.

Sure enough, as he expected, this seemingly ordinary stairwell was filled with surveillance cameras. The moment he stepped on the third step, red lights suddenly lit up all around him, followed by a piercing alarm!

Almost simultaneously, the head nurse appeared at the other end of the hallway. She could hardly believe that someone dared to trespass onto the third floor!

Upon closer inspection, it was the same person who had been in the punishment room twice!

Fuming with rage, she shouted at Gu Zhan, "Patient 707!! Stop! Right now, immediately, stop!"

However, Gu Zhan merely glanced back at her and suddenly quickened his pace, running up the stairs.

The head nurse could never have imagined that after being discovered, he wouldn’t stop but instead would speed up. For a moment, she was caught off guard by his irrational behavior. But she quickly regained her composure; how could she let Gu Zhan reach the third floor! She hurried after him, shouting, “Security! Security!”

Several security personnel rushed down from the upper floors and surrounded Gu Zhan.

The head nurse was furious. “Lock him in the punishment room!”

【LOL, VIP member of the punishment room】

【Go ahead, lock him up it won’t work he’s not scared at all】

【But this will waste a lot of time I wonder if he’ll have enough time to find the clues.】

【From the looks of it, he clearly has already found some clues.】

On the first floor, Wen Ge had just finished his punishment and emerged from the punishment room.

The punishment room was not as simple as it appeared; after just a few hours inside he felt as if he had been pulled out of the water!

He had just entered when he fell into a deadly game. If he hadn’t escaped in time, he would have already been a victim of the monsters!

He couldn’t understand why Patient 707 could stay in the punishment room for so long and even sleep there.

Did they give him a special pass? Didn’t they drag him into the mini-game?

While he was lost in thought, Gu Zhan was pressed by the hospital security personnel to the door of the punishment room.

The head nurse was panting, trailing behind.

In front of everyone, Gu Zhan was locked back into the punishment room.

Wen Ge: “…”

Gu Zhan’s expression was calm, feeling as if he had returned home.

【Hahaha, I’m dying of laughter. same punishment room, different treatment.】

【Wen Ge could never have imagined that Patient 707 had turned the skulls in the punishment room into his brothers!】

【From Wen Ge’s perspective: Is he hacking the game?】

【I’m dying, I can’t wait to see Wen Ge’s expression when he reviews the gameplay after clearing the game.】

【It’s going to be amazing.】

The head nurse stood outside, her expression not showing any pleasure from Gu Zhan's punishment because she knew that the punishment room couldn’t do anything to him!

Inside the punishment room, after Gu Zhan was sent in, he felt completely relaxed.

This place was indeed interesting; that app hadn’t lied to him.

He stretched his limbs, preparing to chat with the skulls and then take a nap.

“Don’t come over!!!”

Before he could take two steps forward, the dinner bell rang… and then the door behind him creaked open.

“Huh?” Gu Zhan was surprised.

He turned around to see the punishment room door slowly opening, with the people who had been watching at the entrance still there, including the head nurse.

Wen Ge was being supported by his companions, looking quite unwell.

Gu Zhan walked to the door in confusion. Was the door to the punishment room broken?

As he moved closer, intending to close the door, the head nurse quickly opened it and said, “Your punishment time is up.”

Gu Zhan looked confused.

Wen Ge couldn’t hold back his disbelief, saying, “He just went in for less than two minutes!”

The head nurse shot a glare at Wen Ge.

Of course she know?!

But she knew better that this punishment room could do nothing to him. Letting him stay in there overnight was like giving him a free bed to sleep in!

At night, he would have to compete for a spot in the hospital with other patients, yet in here, he could sleep comfortably without anyone fighting him for space!

She wouldn’t fall for that trick; she wouldn’t let him sleep soundly through the whole night.

While the head nurse couldn’t do anything to Gu Zhan, it didn’t mean she couldn’t handle others.

Wen Ge’s questioning prompted her to scold him coldly, “Dinner time! Go eat quickly! If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll lock you in the punishment room!”

Wen Ge: “…”

【LOL, Wen Ge: I’ve never been so speechless in my life.】

【I just got out of there.】

【My punishment room and his punishment room seem a bit different~】

Wen Ge and Gu Zhan’s feud was set in stone.

He got closer to the other players, directly contacting them to isolate Gu Zhan.

At the cafeteria during dinner, other players were gathered with Wen Ge, while Gu Zhan sat alone in a corner.

Zhao Xiaoyue was forced to sit with Wen Ge’s group, her gaze constantly drifting toward Gu Zhan.

Wen Ge seemed to sense something and shot Zhao Xiaoyue a glare, his tone unfriendly, “What are you looking at?”

Zhao Xiaoyue quickly diverted her gaze to her bowl, saying, “N-nothing. I was just thinking, today’s quiz ended early; what about tomorrow…”

Wen Ge frowned; he hadn’t caught any evidence, and Zhao Xiaoyue was the only girl among them, so he didn’t want to be too harsh on her, fearing it would cause discord. He said, “Let’s discuss what to do for tomorrow then.”

Zhao Xiaoyue had no choice but to shift her focus, discussing useless strategies with them.

On the other side, Gu Zhan paid no mind to their isolation. After finishing his meal, he returned to the ward.

At night, the hospital was not crowded; the corridors were eerily empty, and every step echoed in the silence.

As expected, Gu Zhan was the first to return to the ward.

However, as soon as he entered, he heard some noise coming from the wall.

Gu Zhan: “…”

【No way! No way! It can't be what I think!】

【Seems like it really is.】

The next second, Gu Zhan was pulled into Xiao Ling's wall space.

【Whoa! This NPC really takes the initiative to find people; what kind of luck is this!】

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post

Jiang Yan was awakened by the mechanical broadcast of the main system. In the desolate mountain forest blanketed by thick snow, a mechanical voice echoed: [Dungeon: "Sheep's Forest," Progress: 20%] [Player: Li Xue, Escape Progress: 50%] The distant sky was a heavy gray, surrounded by gnarled black branches resembling the haunting spirits of a graveyard. Amid the howling wind, there seemed to be the growls of wild beasts. At this moment, Jiang Yan was asleep in the loft of a small wooden cabin deep in the forest, covered with a duck down comforter and lying on a soft velvet blanket. The fireplace in the room was burning brightly, filling the air with the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts, while the raging wind and snow outside were of no concern to him. "Why has the dungeon progress still only been 20% after five days? How many are left alive now?" Jiang Yan nestled deeper into the comforter, lazily asking. "Oh, Ancestor, you’re awake?" the syst

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door

On the weekend, it was time for the second-year students of the School of Science to move dormitories. The hallway on the third floor of Building Seven was bustling with noise, filled with voices, footsteps, and the clattering of suitcase wheels rolling over the floor, creating a chaotic and irritating atmosphere. Lu Yuxing’s daily necessities were mostly simple, so he didn’t have many belongings. Aside from his bed, he managed to pack everything into a few large boxes. He finished organizing his things earlier than the other two and pushed his suitcase to Dorm 323 ahead of time. Dorm 323 had previously been occupied by fourth-year students. After the seniors graduated in July, it remained empty, which saved Lu Yuxing and his friends a lot of hassle when changing dorms. The dorm was quite empty; apart from some dust on the desk and bed, it was overall clean. The large tiled floor was very accommodating for those with obsessive-compulsive tendencies, perfectly fitting the preferences

Shang Jue pushed Lu Yuxing down from his chest. Lu Yuxing wrapped his arms around his waist, keeping him in place. “I’ll be careful this time,” he said, lowering his head again to kiss him gently for a long time. After what felt like an eternity, they parted. Shang Jue noticed Lu Yuxing's flushed face and damp lips up close, feeling a sudden awkwardness. He cleared his throat. Kissing a dog with memories feels different. Lu Yuxing warmly held him, a smile curling at the corners of his lips. Shang Jue couldn’t help but doubt whether the person in front of him was the same as half an hour ago. He raised his hands, pinching Lu Yuxing’s cheeks and pulling at them. Remembering that he was still carrying a pot on his back, he started to unhappily hold him accountable. “You said I was fishing for you. What exactly did I do to fish you?” Lu Yuxing hadn’t expected Shang Jue to bring this up at that moment. As Shang Jue tugged at his face, Lu Yuxing tilted his head but didn’t break
