Chapter 30

Chapter 30

A dry hand reached in and started choking Liang Zuo.

“Help!” His eyes widened as he waved his hands and struggled desperately.

Ye Nianchu saw the scene and thought, I've never seen anyone so good at getting killed.

Quickly, she grabbed the coat rack lying on the ground and pushed it hard against the door. The black fog blocking the doorway retreated, and the hand around Liang Zuo's neck loosened.

Liang Zuo gasped for air, barely escaping. Before he could even express his relief, he watched Ye Nianchu run out without looking back or trying to pull him with her.

The evil spirits that had backed off were now regrouping and returning.

Liang Zuo realized that Ye Nianchu never intended to save him. She was trapped herself, but the evil spirits were blocking the door.

Panicking, Liang Zuo ran into the corridor and tripped over a round object. In his rush, he reached out and touched it.

Long hair wrapped around his hand, and the cold touch made him shiver.

“It’s a human head!” he thought.

“Ah...” A heart-wrenching scream echoed through the hallway.

Meanwhile, Ye Nianchu sprinted towards the stairs.

The system beeped, announcing, [The conditions for early clearance have been met. Please leave Daiyong Town on the sixth day of the game if you have the qualification.]

Outside, the wind howled fiercely, causing all the peach blossoms to fall from the branches rapidly. The temperature dropped even further.

Eerie laughter seemed to float past Ye Nianchu's ears, and the entire B&B was filled with unsettling noises.

“We had a deal. You can’t kill me!”

“Ding Qi, you won’t end well if you take the amulet for yourself and betray your teammates.”

As Ye Nianchu reached the second floor, she saw Zhou Yun running from the balcony, holding a long nail, with a cloud of black mist trailing behind her.

Charred hands reached out from the black mist, pulling Zhou Yun back before she could escape.

She waved the nail in terror. The spirit she stabbed screamed and disappeared along with the nail.

Her tool could destroy spirits, but it was a one-time use item.

Charred, twisted figures emerged from the black mist, and Zhou Yun’s screams filled the air.

The young man leaned casually against a door, looking relaxed and indifferent. It was almost as if he was cheating.

The ceiling began to leak red liquid. The corridor, which was usually clear, now seemed to stretch endlessly.

The white walls were covered in black, with charred fingers reaching out.

Ye Nianchu dodged spirits and nearly got caught several times. Her tool could only be used once and needed a 2-minute cooldown, making things even more challenging.

Meanwhile, the young man, just a few steps ahead, remained calmly leaning against the door.

Was it only her? Was the spirit showing favoritism?

This felt so unfair.

After much effort, Ye Nianchu finally reached the young man, exhausted and out of breath.

At that moment, the spirits chasing her stopped.

The young man smiled and said, “This sister is just adding a little difficulty to the game.”

They entered a room, and the young man closed the door behind them.

“They...” Ye Nianchu wanted to ask why the spirits hadn’t followed her, but she was too winded to speak.

The young man seemed to understand. “It’s because of this, the amulet.”

Ye Nianchu looked at the worn wooden plate in his hand and asked, “Did you snatch it from Ding Qi?”

“He dropped it. I don’t steal items,” the young man replied quickly.

Chapter 2 (Peachland)

Chapter 2 "It's not impossible," the man across from her said, picking up some food with his chopsticks. "The system doesn’t reveal anything, and there's no response when we ask." Deng Lan agreed. She had been watching a drama at home, and then, in a blink, she was suddenly in this game. She couldn’t quit; it felt like a bad deal she had no choice but to accept. She had never seen a game this awful. Luckily, she was fortunate. When she met Ding Qi, another new player, Deng Lan was relieved to finally find a teammate. Being alone in the game was scarier than being pulled into it. "Why don’t we stay near the town exit and, on the sixth day, leave right away at dawn?" Deng Lan suggested. A hint of sarcasm flashed in Ding Qi’s eyes, but he didn’t show it. He seriously analyzed, "I think the game won’t let us pass that easily. The closer we get to the exit, the more dangerous it might be." Deng Lan didn’t know what Ding Qi was thinking, but hi

Max-Level Big Shot in the Survival Game

When Ye Nianchu is brought back into the game as a newbie, her bad luck seems to follow her everywhere. As she searches for clues, she heads straight for the BOSS. But stockpiling supplies turns into a crisis as she struggles on the way. "This game is too hard," she mutters. "Maybe all my luck was used up just meeting Qin Mubai." When they first meet, Ye Nianchu sees the boy with a paintbrush and thinks, "This NPC is really good-looking." Later, though, the boy holds a craft knife like a killer, but his smile is both kind and harmless. "Others are just trying to survive," she thinks. "He’s just playing a game. What kind of game is this? Can I report him for cheating?" In this game, players face a peaceful town that suddenly becomes a dangerous apocalypse, songs from the deep sea, a train that disappears mysteriously, a strange rainforest, and a weird sanatorium. "Danger keeps coming. Players either finish tasks to leave or die in t

Chapter 5 (Peachland)

Chapter 5 There were meals available at the B&B, but of course, they cost extra. After dinner, Ye Nianchu went up to the public terrace. From there, she could see the entire town at a glance. Smoke rose from the chimneys along the riverbank, and her gaze fell on the Huanzhen River. On the sixth day, if she couldn't leave this place, the mission would fail. The first day was almost over, and she didn’t have much time left to figure out how to pass the game. As the wind blew through the mountains, lifting her hair and the hem of her clothes, she suddenly noticed a figure. On the other side of the terrace, in front of an easel, sat a young man. He was tall and had a handsome, upright figure. His face was like it had been chiseled by a master sculptor. Pale skin, delicate features—he looked like a portrait come to life. Even from a distance, Ye Nianchu found it hard to look away. The boy held a paintbrush in his hand. His fingers were long and elegant. His clean, gentle appearance

Chapter 11 (Peachland)

Chapter 11 Some people, curious about the scene, came closer and quickly felt sick. The thought that the fish they had eaten for a midnight snack last night might have come from this river only made their fear worse. "I never want to eat fish again," someone said, shuddering. Nearby, several tourists who had stayed at the same B&B as the deceased, along with the B&B owner, stood together, looking very worried. The person they had shared a meal with just yesterday was now dead. "I saw Deng Lan last night; how could this happen?" Zhou Yun said, trembling. "Boss, did Deng Lan leave the B&B last night?" someone asked. The B&B was small, run by the owner herself, with no other staff except for a cleaning lady. The owner usually stayed at the front desk until locking up for the night before going to bed. The owner, looking pale and nervous, hesitated before answering, "I—I don't know. I didn’t pay much attention." The owner knew Den

Chapter 6 (Peachland)

Chapter 6 "As for the early clearance, those who got their qualification today might be S-ranked players," Wang Hai said. Wang Hai was still searching for someone, so he couldn’t give more details. Liang Zuo and Zhou Wen felt anxious but tried to hide it. They were beginning to think Wang Hai, who bragged about being a top player, seemed more like a con artist. "You newbies don’t know anything," Wang Hai said, glancing at them. "Since we're in the same game, let me give you a tip. For newbies like you, besides completing the quests, you should avoid top S-ranked players." "If you meet someone else, you might get lucky and clear the game with them. But if you run into one particular player, you’d better be careful." "Who?" Liang Zuo asked, leaning in. "We don’t know his name, but his last name is Qin. He’s an S-ranked big shot. It’s said that in one game round, almost everyone died, not because of the game, but because of him. T
