The boys' dormitory was much livelier than the girls', even as curfew approached. Many people sneaked out, and the tighter the time, the more urgent the need to go out—some were buying cigarettes, others were eating grilled cold noodles, and more were rushing to the internet café.

Xiang Ran pushed open the dormitory door, which was filled with noise.

The fatty was teaching his friend Jin Chanchan.

“Do you understand the explosive crocodile strategy?”

“The cards definitely need the blue buff! Trust me, stand in the middle of the last row.”

“Prioritize letting the crocodile eat all the gear!”

Qi Dong was figuring out the travel route for tomorrow, occasionally countering the fatty's opinions.

Wang Hao was video calling Xiao Qiao, giving her reminders about the weather.

Xiang Ran dropped his backpack, planning to take a shower and freshen up first.

“Buzz, buzz, buzz.”

He had barely been inside for a minute when he saw the WeChat call, making him suspect that Liu Shuyao had called right as he returned to the dorm.

Where are my headphones? Where are they? Xiang Ran scrambled through his bag.

His phone kept vibrating.

Even the fatty couldn't hold back, “Xiang Ran, just answer it! Besides your dad telling you to eat more fruit, and your mom reminding you to sleep early, there are no secrets left at home.”

It wasn’t surprising for the fatty to think this way. After all, they’d lived together for over a year, and the only ones who would video call Xiang Ran were his dad or mom—no surprises, no unexpected moments.

Ignoring the fatty's ramblings, Xiang Ran found his headphones and went to the balcony.

“Did you get to the dorm?”

A bright face appeared on the video, tilting her head and smiling at the camera.

“Just got here.”

Compared to Liu Shuyao’s well-lit, perfectly framed setup, Xiang Ran could barely be seen in the dim light on the balcony; his shirt blocked most of the light, making it far from an ideal spot.

But Liu Shuyao didn't seem to mind. She adjusted the angle multiple times.

“Don’t forget to apply the medicine again tonight.”

Xiang Ran reminded her.

“Okay~” Liu Shuyao replied sweetly.

Then the video fell silent. Xiang Ran didn’t know what to say, thinking it would be better to just say goodnight.

“Rest well and sleep early.”

He intended to hang up.

“Hey, hey, hey~~~”

“Are you really going to hang up now?”

Liu Shuyao seemed confused. Shouldn't couples have endless topics to discuss? They used to talk for ages, but now it felt like they could barely manage two minutes.

The girl on the other end pouted, looking unwilling.

“Can’t we talk a little more?”

Liu Shuyao asked softly.

At this point, even Xiang Ran realized it wasn’t the right time to hang up. He had always been curious about what couples who talked for hours were discussing.

In an hour, they could cover everything from the Shang Dynasty to the Taiping Rebellion.

But he was a quick learner and soon remembered what the dorm leader had mentioned in a previous call.

“I heard from Wang Hao that tomorrow will be sunny, so we don’t need to bring umbrellas.”

Liu Shuyao giggled at his stiff reply.

Thinking about it, she remembered their plan for an escape room tomorrow, which explained why Zhao Ying had been busy with her makeup since she got back.

She almost forgot about it with all the thoughts in her head!

Earlier, she had insisted on the call, but now she quickly said she needed to pick an outfit and hung up on her boyfriend.

The whole process was so fast that Xiang Ran barely had time to respond!

Are women really this changeable?

Meanwhile, after hanging up, Liu Shuyao got out of bed and opened her wardrobe.

She glanced at Zhao Ying, who was applying a face mask while watching a video, then turned to Li Meixun, who was painting her nails, as she seemed more experienced!

“Meixun, what should I wear tomorrow?”

“How about this dress?”

“Or should I go for long pants? It might be inconvenient to run otherwise.”

“Should I look up some strategies? I'm worried I won't be able to figure out the answers and end up looking silly~”

“???”

“Run?”

“Figure out answers?”

Li Meixun seemed confused.

“We're going to an escape room tomorrow~ Don’t we need to dress comfortably?”

Liu Shuyao reminded her.

“You and Xiang Ran are back together now, right?”

Liu Shuyao announced this news as soon as she returned to the dorm today.

“Huh?”

“Yes, we are! But what does that have to do with the escape room?”

“Now that you're together, it means you're in a relationship, right?”

Liu Shuyao nodded obediently!

Finishing one hand, Li Meixun switched to the other and turned slightly to face Liu Shuyao.

“Then let them escape! You and Xiang Ran can handle the escape room~”

“As long as it doesn't hold back the rest of the group!”

“What do you mean?”

“Think about it, a closed escape room, dim lighting, just the two of you.”

“Isn’t that the perfect setting for anything?”

“Huh?”

Liu Shuyao hadn’t expected the escape room to be interpreted this way!

“But what about escaping? Aren't we supposed to escape?”

“Why would a couple need to escape? Just go do some side quests together; it’ll be fun~”

“Nice.”

“But aren’t there cameras in escape rooms now?”

“What if we get caught on tape?~”

Liu Shuyao felt her face heat up, embarrassed.

“I’m not saying you have to do anything! We’re just talking about keeping it subtle!”

“I’m just reminding you, your main goal shouldn’t be escaping; it should be enjoying the moment! You’ll find opportunities!”

“Got it?”

After hearing this, Liu Shuyao nodded repeatedly and gave Li Meixun a hug!

“Got it, got it! It’s like a lightbulb went off in my head!”

“You have no idea!”

“Xiang Ran has set so many rules for me, not allowed this, not allowed that. Now that I finally have this opportunity, I can’t let it slip away!”

“I feel like my relationship is as pure as a Taoist on Qingcheng Mountain.”

With her mindset completely shifted, Liu Shuyao resumed rummaging through her wardrobe.

“So what style do you think I should go for?”

“Cool and aloof older sister, or enthusiastic younger girl?”

Liu Shuyao mumbled, trying on a red beach dress.

The thin straps accentuated her long neck, making her look alluring and elegant. The large cutout design in the front showcased her fair skin, creating a striking contrast with the red dress.

Her waist was accentuated beautifully, resembling a sculpted curve that left a stunning visual impact.

Li Meixun couldn’t help but think for Xiang Ran:

Isn’t this a bit much?

“Maybe you should wear pants instead; otherwise, I'm worried your boyfriend might really struggle to escape.”

Translation Update! 🍙 Translation Update! 🍙 ✨ Quick note: English isn't my first language, so please understand there might be some typos or awkward phrasing - I'm doing my best! ✨ Hey everyone, just a quick update: As of today, April 28, 2025 , I want to give you all a heads-up about a few small issues you might come across in the story, specifically with some of the prop names. It's not exactly a typo issue—it's more about changes I've made over time. For instance, I originally used the term 'data concealment number' but later changed it to 'number concealment data.' Since these are just prop names in the story, it's not a major issue for the plot, but I totally get that some of you might find it a little annoying if you're really particular about details. ...

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...
