 “I...”

Xiang Ran stood there, opening his mouth to explain what had just happened.

“Don’t say anything, come with me!”

Liu Shuyao jogged a couple of steps closer, pressed her finger against Xiang Ran’s lips, then took his hand and pulled him toward the little garden they had visited last time.

“Aren’t we going to eat?”

Xiang Ran vaguely recognized the direction and asked a question he felt was foolish!

As expected, he received a glare from Liu Shuyao.

He had no choice but to keep quiet.

That night, the little garden was surprisingly empty, likely because everyone had gone to the nearby Seven Days or Eight Days.

Moonlight filtered through the treetops, casting a soft silver glow on the path, while the dense trees created an ambiguous atmosphere.

A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, as if hiding some unknown stories, filling the night with an indescribable charm.

Stars twinkled in the night sky, like eyes blinking and watching over the two young people hidden within this grove.

Liu Shuyao found a secluded spot, and the two of them stopped.

Moonlight bathed Liu Shuyao, casting a tranquil and gentle glow. Her chin lifted slightly, her eyes brighter than the moonlight, filled only with the reflection of Xiang Ran.

“I have a question~”

Liu Shuyao’s tone carried an unusual seriousness.

This made Xiang Ran feel uneasy.

Could she be angry?

But he hadn’t said anything wrong, right?

Or... had she regained her memory?

Was he going to fall flat before even confessing?

The fool was actually himself?

...

After a moment, Liu Shuyao spoke.

“Are we back together now?”

In that split second, Xiang Ran felt as if he had lived through ten lifetimes. He could feel his heartbeat racing, oscillating wildly.

“Although I think you’re not angry anymore, I still want to ask.”

As she spoke, Liu Shuyao, for some reason, started to get nervous. Her palms were slightly damp, and despite her efforts to control her emotions, her slightly anxious gaze gave away her feelings.

Xiang Ran breathed a sigh of relief. He noticed his fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of his shirt, as if trying to diffuse the tension surrounding Liu Shuyao.

Trying to lighten the mood, he joked:

“What if I’m still angry?”

“Ah?”

Liu Shuyao seemed taken aback, looking up at him with confusion.

It felt like her breath had momentarily stopped...

Hadn’t they just confessed their feelings for each other?

Could it be she was trying to deceive him?

Liu Shuyao’s voice trembled slightly, sounding delicate like the wind, as she cautiously spoke.

“If, if you’re still angry...”

“Then I’ll coax you again~~~”

“What else do you want to do to coax me?”

Xiang Ran smiled.

“You can do whatever you want~~~”

Liu Shuyao bit her lower lip, her voice barely above a whisper.

She raised her hand, wanting to touch Xiang Ran’s arm, but hesitated, stopping mid-air.

Seeing Liu Shuyao’s somewhat vulnerable demeanor, Xiang Ran felt a “bang” in his mind, as if something had exploded inside.

Realizing he might have crossed a line, he quickly began to explain.

“Wait, wait, wait, that’s not what I meant!”

“I was just teasing you. I’m not angry; I haven’t been angry for a long time!”

“Really?”

He admitted he couldn’t resist the charm in Liu Shuyao’s eyes, feeling a bit moved.

It was as if he were walking in a dream, drawn in by an invisible thread.

“Yeah.”

Xiang Ran answered, almost unconsciously.

At that moment, he could almost hear the mocking laughter of the three giants in his mind.

Fine, let’s pretend to be a boyfriend, even without a label!

After all, he had always been kind-hearted; adding one more act of goodness wouldn’t hurt.

Liu Shuyao was overjoyed. Her slender figure, illuminated in the dim light, looked particularly enchanting.

She bounced up and down, the light filtering through her thin shirt, gently outlining her curves. The wind lifted the strands of hair by her shoulder, revealing her small face with a faint blush, her eyes crescent-shaped with happiness.

Then, without any hesitation, she jumped into Xiang Ran’s arms.

She took Xiang Ran’s hand and wrapped it around her waist, snuggling up to him, her voice laced with urgency.

“Can we kiss now?”

“I’ve been waiting for so long~”

The path curved under the moonlight, fragrant with blooming flowers, as if to highlight the romance of the night.

Xiang Ran nearly didn’t register the meaning of her words at first.

Then he suddenly sprang back.

He stammered for a moment, unable to say anything to make Liu Shuyao hold back.

“Just one last small question...”

Liu Shuyao suddenly made a mini gesture with her hands.

“?”

“Can we keep this a secret from others?”

What?

In Xiang Ran’s memory, had they not kept their relationship a secret before?

A secret romance?

Oh, this is perfect!

If Liu Shuyao remembers later, they can revert to how they were before.

Thinking this, he gently pushed Liu Shuyao away from him, then pointed to a nearby bench.

“Ahem~”

He coughed symbolically a couple of times.

“Sit!”

“Actually, I still have a couple of things to say.”

Liu Shuyao was a bit confused by Xiang Ran’s suddenly serious tone, but her body instinctively followed his command and sat down.

She even adjusted her posture, smoothing her skirt, looking obedient and ready to listen.

Was her boyfriend about to play some kind of role-playing game?

Was it starting now?

How exciting!

Thinking of the promise she had just made, Liu Shuyao felt her heart racing even faster...

The night was pitch black, and Xiang Ran couldn’t see Liu Shuyao’s expression clearly, yet he sensed an underlying anticipation from her.

“Liu Shuyao.”

“Here!”

“......”

Xiang Ran’s planned serious discussion was abruptly interrupted by her soft response.

He frowned and reminded himself to calm down.

“Can you listen to me first?”

Realizing what he meant, Liu Shuyao nodded. She traced her finger across her lips, signaling for silence, looking so cute it made him want to do something.

“First, don’t always call me names!”

Liu Shuyao: ...

“Secondly, don’t always pull my sleeves at school!”

Liu Shuyao: ...

“Lastly, our relationship should stay just between us for now.”

As soon as he finished, Liu Shuyao, who had been eager to unlock a new level in their relationship, stood up in a huff.

She glared with her big eyes, pouting, letting out a soft “hmm” sound.

“Alright, you can express your opinion now.”

With permission to speak, Liu Shuyao looked aggrieved and started to rebut word by word:

“Why can’t a boyfriend call names?”

“Too cheesy; just call me by my name.”

(Shuyao feels wronged) Do I have to call Xiang Ran by that rigid name? It doesn’t feel romantic at all.

“It’s okay if I call you ‘my old love,’ right?”

“Sure!”

“Yay~~~”

Translation Update! 🍙 Translation Update! 🍙 ✨ Quick note: English isn't my first language, so please understand there might be some typos or awkward phrasing - I'm doing my best! ✨ Hey everyone, just a quick update: As of today, April 28, 2025 , I want to give you all a heads-up about a few small issues you might come across in the story, specifically with some of the prop names. It's not exactly a typo issue—it's more about changes I've made over time. For instance, I originally used the term 'data concealment number' but later changed it to 'number concealment data.' Since these are just prop names in the story, it's not a major issue for the plot, but I totally get that some of you might find it a little annoying if you're really particular about details. ...

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...
