The moon was bright, and the stars were sparse. The light from the teaching building spilled through the gaps in the trees, casting uneven shadows on the ground.

In the corners of the campus, the croaking of frogs and the chirping of insects intertwined in a symphony.

A gentle breeze swept by, bringing a hint of coolness.

After chatting for a while, a few of them walked Liu Shuyao back first before heading toward the boys' dormitory.

Fatty thought about the discussion with Liu Shuyao earlier and realized he could ask Xiang Ran a question now.

“Brother Ran, are we going to do the initial version report with Teacher Wu next week?”

Xiang Ran nodded.

“Based on the current progress, we should be able to.”

Qi Dong chimed in, “The big screen you’re making is really good, especially the concept of the virtual gallery—it sounds so advanced.”

Hearing this, Fatty immediately perked up, although the idea wasn’t his, he still had a part in making those pages a reality.

“This concept was proposed by the campus beauty first, and she’s also the one drawing the background images.”

Fatty added.

Qi Dong nodded in acknowledgment. “This concept is so innovative; I doubt you engineering types would come up with something like this. You’d probably just end up with a bare-bones data display.”

“Damn, Brother Dong!”

“You really have a way with words! To be honest, our initial version was just a data panel designed by Brother Ran.”

“It was the campus beauty who turned the tide, leading to today’s results.”

“Especially that timeline copy you saw—she wrote that too!”

Qi Dong remembered that well. What distinguished it from traditional timeline displays was its interactive design, adding narrative depth despite being concise and impactful.

“I don’t know if it’s because she’s from the art department, but she seems to have a vivid sense for designing story elements, and her creative ability is impressive.”

Xiang Ran had noticed during their collaboration that Liu Shuyao could express her ideas well, whether in words or drawings. In the end, everything came together seamlessly, enhancing the overall atmosphere with just the right touch.

“For programmers who focus solely on data results, if this ability were applied in other areas, it would be fascinating.”

Qi Dong summarized, then jokingly remarked, “You know, with a look and figure like hers, beautiful face, slender waist, sweet voice, and most importantly, excellent grades and strong abilities—who wouldn’t want someone like that?”

“Who knows which lucky guy will end up with her in the future!”

“Just her looks would win over 99% of people. Even if she were just a pretty face, it would be more than enough, yet she also has the talent to impress the remaining 1%!”

“How can there be such a beautiful girl in this world!”

Qi Dong expressed his awe, and although it sounded exaggerated, it was the truth.

Fatty joined in, and the two started analyzing what kind of guy would match the campus beauty!

“At the very least, he should be worth a few million, right?”

“What about looks? Isn’t that important?”

“You’re so shallow!”

“......”

Xiang Ran didn’t feel like joining their conversation and stayed quiet beside them.

Then, his phone buzzed twice in his pocket.

It was a WeChat message from Liu Shuyao.

【Are you back at the dorm yet?】

【I’m downstairs.】

...

The two continued chatting as they returned to the dorm.

The dorm leader had arrived before them and asked about the progress of their big screen project.

“Oh!”

“Speaking of which, Brother Ran! Did you know that the person coordinating the art pieces next week is Han Lele?”

“You’ll get to see her again!”

Fatty smacked his forehead, changing the topic faster than an F1 drift.

“Why would I want to meet her? If it’s about coordinating, just ask you; I’ll send you the requirements.”

Xiang Ran already knew it was Han Lele coming; the last encounter at KTV was still fresh in his mind, and just thinking about it gave him a headache.

“What? You two didn’t hit it off?”

“Nothing happened at that atmosphere-filled occasion?”

“!!”

Fatty clearly didn’t understand.

Xiang Ran didn’t reply. Did something happen?

Was it that straw?

Maybe something did happen!

He still remembered the striking contrast of her black backless dress against her porcelain-white skin.

Xiang Ran’s silence disappointed Fatty.

“Brother Ran! Can you wake up?”

“She’s right next to you, and you don’t find her attractive?”

“Who else would you even consider?”

Fatty was just making a sarcastic comment, but it struck a chord with Xiang Ran.

He froze for a moment.

Short T-shirts, pink hoodies, or that black backless dress?

“Hey~”

“If you keep this up, I bet you’ll struggle to find a match by 35.”

“Is there still a market for blind dates?” the dorm leader chimed in.

“Though statistics show that the quality of blind date candidates tends to decrease with age.”

Qi Dong, rummaging through his cabinet for clothes for tomorrow, couldn’t help but interject.

“I know, even if you can find a fair-skinned, beautiful, well-proportioned 7 out of 10 at 20, by 30, you’re only looking at 5s. If you’re still single at 40, your options dwindle down to just any woman.”

“So... with Brother Ran’s standards, it’s understandable if he aims for the campus beauty now!”

“As for whether he can find a wife later, that’s a matter for another day.”

Qi Dong summarized.

The dorm conversation was lively, while Xiang Ran’s phone was equally buzzing with notifications.

Liu Shuyao: 【Did Fatty finish the leftover fish?】

Xiang Ran: 【He’s eating it now.】

Liu Shuyao: 【Hahaha (▽)】

Liu Shuyao: 【I knew he wouldn’t want to waste that half portion of fish!】

【......】

【......】

Seeing Xiang Ran staying quiet, Fatty didn’t give up.

“Brother Ran, you’re not still reading that Turing paper, are you?”

“Why don’t you check out my dog food manga?”

“Seriously!”

“That author is really something; they have skills!”

“You should be reading some sci-fi dog food series to find a sense of romance!”

Fatty was relentless in recommending that manga, sounding like a paid promoter.

When Xiang Ran turned around, he found Fatty’s head resting on the edge of his bed.

The page on his phone was once again that familiar title, “Daily Life of Young Love”...

He frowned, about to say something when his phone buzzed again.

【Good night then~】

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post

Jiang Yan was awakened by the mechanical broadcast of the main system. In the desolate mountain forest blanketed by thick snow, a mechanical voice echoed: [Dungeon: "Sheep's Forest," Progress: 20%] [Player: Li Xue, Escape Progress: 50%] The distant sky was a heavy gray, surrounded by gnarled black branches resembling the haunting spirits of a graveyard. Amid the howling wind, there seemed to be the growls of wild beasts. At this moment, Jiang Yan was asleep in the loft of a small wooden cabin deep in the forest, covered with a duck down comforter and lying on a soft velvet blanket. The fireplace in the room was burning brightly, filling the air with the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts, while the raging wind and snow outside were of no concern to him. "Why has the dungeon progress still only been 20% after five days? How many are left alive now?" Jiang Yan nestled deeper into the comforter, lazily asking. "Oh, Ancestor, you’re awake?" the syst

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door

On the weekend, it was time for the second-year students of the School of Science to move dormitories. The hallway on the third floor of Building Seven was bustling with noise, filled with voices, footsteps, and the clattering of suitcase wheels rolling over the floor, creating a chaotic and irritating atmosphere. Lu Yuxing’s daily necessities were mostly simple, so he didn’t have many belongings. Aside from his bed, he managed to pack everything into a few large boxes. He finished organizing his things earlier than the other two and pushed his suitcase to Dorm 323 ahead of time. Dorm 323 had previously been occupied by fourth-year students. After the seniors graduated in July, it remained empty, which saved Lu Yuxing and his friends a lot of hassle when changing dorms. The dorm was quite empty; apart from some dust on the desk and bed, it was overall clean. The large tiled floor was very accommodating for those with obsessive-compulsive tendencies, perfectly fitting the preferences

Shang Jue pushed Lu Yuxing down from his chest. Lu Yuxing wrapped his arms around his waist, keeping him in place. “I’ll be careful this time,” he said, lowering his head again to kiss him gently for a long time. After what felt like an eternity, they parted. Shang Jue noticed Lu Yuxing's flushed face and damp lips up close, feeling a sudden awkwardness. He cleared his throat. Kissing a dog with memories feels different. Lu Yuxing warmly held him, a smile curling at the corners of his lips. Shang Jue couldn’t help but doubt whether the person in front of him was the same as half an hour ago. He raised his hands, pinching Lu Yuxing’s cheeks and pulling at them. Remembering that he was still carrying a pot on his back, he started to unhappily hold him accountable. “You said I was fishing for you. What exactly did I do to fish you?” Lu Yuxing hadn’t expected Shang Jue to bring this up at that moment. As Shang Jue tugged at his face, Lu Yuxing tilted his head but didn’t break
