Xiang Ran slumped onto the chair, feeling a bit defeated as the code in front of him became a chaotic blur.

All he could hear was the loud voice of the chubby guy.

He was shouting and cursing as he played in the canyon against some opponents.

“Guan Yu, are you out of your mind? Did you take a motorcycle and drive onto the road? You always bring the line but never join the team fights!”

“Hold the high ground, hold the high ground, wait for me!”

“Damn it!”

“Is this a rescue mission for Grandpa Huhu?”

“What a bunch of trash, they don’t deserve to win!”

Soon, a crisp sound echoed from the top right corner:

“Defeat!”

Just then, Qi Dong returned from outside. He threw his backpack down and immediately started urging everyone.

“Come on, let’s go!”

“Right away!”

The chubby guy was frustrated after losing, and when Qi Dong nudged him to go out, he didn’t even ask and was already putting on his shoes.

“What’s going on?”

Wang Hao peeked out from the top bunk.

“It’s my old classmate Zhao Xiaogang’s birthday. He’s treating everyone to a meal and gathering us together.”

Qi Dong explained.

“Zhao Xiaogang?”

The chubby guy didn’t recognize the name.

“He’s from the neighboring province, a basketball player, right?” Wang Hao recalled vaguely.

“Yeah, that’s him.”

“Now the neighboring province counts as an old classmate?”

“If the three northeastern provinces count, then Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai can count too, right?”

While Qi Dong urged everyone to hurry, he kept explaining.

“Brother Ran? Are you coming?”

Xiang Ran usually had little interest in these gatherings; he’d rather stay in the dorm writing code.

But today... he was feeling restless and had no desire for research.

Forget it.

He might as well go!

So he nodded and got up.

“Wow, our king of studying is actually going out today?”

“Seriously, Brother Ran, you should go out more and see the colorful world out there.”

Xiang Ran’s mind was a mess, and he had no interest in that colorful life, but since he had no better option, he didn’t argue with the chubby guy.

The group made their way to the KTV at the school entrance.

They arrived a bit late and saw someone just returning after throwing up.

Zhao Xiaogang was well-liked at school, and a lot of people showed up tonight.

Men and women were gathered in the dim light, circling around the sofas, creating a lively atmosphere.

Aside from a few from their department, there were two who looked like they were from the arts department?

The rest were mostly unfamiliar faces to Xiang Ran.

Since they were all classmates, they just nodded in greeting and found a corner to sit down.

But the chubby guy was energized; as soon as they entered, he pulled Xiang Ran’s sleeve and tried to signal with his eyes.

“Left five! Left five!”

Xiang Ran followed his gaze and saw a girl.

He raised an eyebrow, not understanding what he meant.

“The one who asked you for your WeChat during the meeting!”

“You forgot?”

The chubby guy could tell from Xiang Ran’s confused expression that he likely had no recollection.

But it didn’t matter; running into her again was fate!

Cupid's bow was drawn tight; there was no reason to refuse. Plus, his Ran Ge really needed some campus romance; they couldn’t just let him end up with Turing.

So while Xiang Ran was busy greeting people he recognized, the chubby guy had already dragged the girl to a seat on the left.

Then he gave a trusting look!

And just like that, Xiang Ran was left there!

He instinctively sat a bit farther away from her, not having the chance to escape when the girl came over to greet him.

“Hi, senior.”

“Do you remember me?”

Xiang Ran finally looked up at her. She had a shoulder-length bob, a white collar shirt, and a round, doll-like face, making her look just like a doll.

Honestly, he didn’t remember!

But saying that would be impolite. Although he didn’t enjoy this kind of socializing, he knew what to say at the right times.

So he smiled slightly, “I remember; we attended the same meeting.”

The girl seemed excited by his response, took a sip of her drink, and found a new topic to discuss.

“Do you know Zhao Xiaogang?”

“I’ve met him a few times.”

“Is your department busy with classes?”

“Not too bad.”

“I think computer science boys are really cool~~”

“......”

Xiang Ran felt a bit awkward; he wanted to leave...

Just as he was about to get up, saying, “I’ll grab a drink over there,” he saw Qi Dong coming over after greeting everyone, pinning him back down and placing a beer in front of him.

“I heard from the chubby guy that your love life is blossoming?”

“Not at all.”

“Don’t be so resistant; just get to know her a bit!”

Then he greeted Han Lele.

“Let me officially introduce, this is Han Lele from the art department, first year.”

“This is my roommate, Xiang Ran, a genius in computer science.”

“Senior~~”

Han Lele’s gaze was fully on Xiang Ran as she sweetly greeted him.

“Aren’t you guys working on that big screen project? If you have any questions, you can ask your senior, Han Lele!”

Listening to that one remark was better than reading ten thousand books.

Originally struggling to find a topic, Han Lele’s eyes lit up.

“I wanted to ask, but I’m afraid you’d think I’m dumb.”

Then don’t ask...

If Xiang Ran had known it would turn out like this, he would have rather stayed in the dorm searching for that strange hotel!

After pinning Xiang Ran back on the sofa, Han Lele clearly figured out how to start a conversation.

After Qi Dong snapped a photo, he quietly slipped away.

【Whether our Ran Ge can find love tonight depends on this!】

...

“Buzz, buzz, buzz.”

Zhao Ying was applying a face mask on her bed when she received the photo from Qi Dong.

After looking at the picture, she almost freaked out.

“Ah, ah, ah, ah!”

“Shu Yao! Shu Yao!”

“Your Xiang Ran is currently at KTV drinking with Han Lele!”

“What?”

The diligent school representative, focused on changing the background of her notebook, was momentarily stunned by this news.

Zhao Ying handed her phone over.

Liu Shu Yao stared at the picture of the two chatting, completely dumbfounded.

In the dim light of the KTV, they were deep in conversation; Han Lele leaned in close to Xiang Ran, almost obscuring half of his view in the photo.

Plus, Qi Dong had taken the picture casually, making it blurry and unclear.

No matter how much Liu Shu Yao tried to zoom in, she couldn’t make out any details.

“What’s going on tonight?”

Li Meixun, who was standing beside her, asked.

“Looks like it’s for the basketball player’s birthday. Qi Dong invited me, but I declined since I wasn’t interested.”

“Isn’t that Han Lele the girl who wanted Xiang Ran’s WeChat during the meeting?”

Zhao Ying started to remember now as she looked at the photo.

Liu Shu Yao nodded but was still searching for clues.

Li Meixun, however, was already rummaging through her wardrobe. She finally pulled out a revealing little black dress and shoved it into Liu Shu Yao's arms.

“Change and let’s go!”

“What’s the point of analyzing the photo?”

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post

Jiang Yan was awakened by the mechanical broadcast of the main system. In the desolate mountain forest blanketed by thick snow, a mechanical voice echoed: [Dungeon: "Sheep's Forest," Progress: 20%] [Player: Li Xue, Escape Progress: 50%] The distant sky was a heavy gray, surrounded by gnarled black branches resembling the haunting spirits of a graveyard. Amid the howling wind, there seemed to be the growls of wild beasts. At this moment, Jiang Yan was asleep in the loft of a small wooden cabin deep in the forest, covered with a duck down comforter and lying on a soft velvet blanket. The fireplace in the room was burning brightly, filling the air with the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts, while the raging wind and snow outside were of no concern to him. "Why has the dungeon progress still only been 20% after five days? How many are left alive now?" Jiang Yan nestled deeper into the comforter, lazily asking. "Oh, Ancestor, you’re awake?" the syst

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door

On the weekend, it was time for the second-year students of the School of Science to move dormitories. The hallway on the third floor of Building Seven was bustling with noise, filled with voices, footsteps, and the clattering of suitcase wheels rolling over the floor, creating a chaotic and irritating atmosphere. Lu Yuxing’s daily necessities were mostly simple, so he didn’t have many belongings. Aside from his bed, he managed to pack everything into a few large boxes. He finished organizing his things earlier than the other two and pushed his suitcase to Dorm 323 ahead of time. Dorm 323 had previously been occupied by fourth-year students. After the seniors graduated in July, it remained empty, which saved Lu Yuxing and his friends a lot of hassle when changing dorms. The dorm was quite empty; apart from some dust on the desk and bed, it was overall clean. The large tiled floor was very accommodating for those with obsessive-compulsive tendencies, perfectly fitting the preferences

Shang Jue pushed Lu Yuxing down from his chest. Lu Yuxing wrapped his arms around his waist, keeping him in place. “I’ll be careful this time,” he said, lowering his head again to kiss him gently for a long time. After what felt like an eternity, they parted. Shang Jue noticed Lu Yuxing's flushed face and damp lips up close, feeling a sudden awkwardness. He cleared his throat. Kissing a dog with memories feels different. Lu Yuxing warmly held him, a smile curling at the corners of his lips. Shang Jue couldn’t help but doubt whether the person in front of him was the same as half an hour ago. He raised his hands, pinching Lu Yuxing’s cheeks and pulling at them. Remembering that he was still carrying a pot on his back, he started to unhappily hold him accountable. “You said I was fishing for you. What exactly did I do to fish you?” Lu Yuxing hadn’t expected Shang Jue to bring this up at that moment. As Shang Jue tugged at his face, Lu Yuxing tilted his head but didn’t break
