[Player has cleared BOSS Den No. 1, earning 400 points.

Killed BOSS for 180 points.

Total: 580 points.]

“Did you get the points?” Ye Nianchu smiled.

Qin Mubai took her hand. “Yeah, 580 points.”

Ye Nianchu was taken aback; their points were different. “Isn’t the clearing BOSS den worth 500?”

“Yeah, it’s 400.”

They found a flat area nearby and set up a tent to tend to their wounds. After spending two days in a wooden cabin, they were back to the tent.

The face spiders in the den had been eliminated, so there wouldn't be any significant danger around.

Ye Nianchu’s wounds on her arm and shoulder looked severe due to the second rupture.

“Sister, you won’t let me use my abilities, but you’re taking risks yourself.” Qin Mubai watched her, his low voice tinged with a hint of accusation and grievance.

“Half a year ago, in that round of the game, I forcibly used my abilities and understood how serious the backlash could be. When I was later trapped, I had no strength to save myself.” She paused. “I was dragged to the bottom of a lake by a family of malevolent spirits.”

All sounds from the outside world faded into a blur. The icy lake water engulfed her body, and the light before her gradually vanished.

An unyielding force pulled her toward the abyss, with piercing laughter and applause ringing in her ears until everything faded to darkness.

A chill crossed Qin Mubai’s lowered gaze. He avoided her injuries, wrapping her in his arms, his fingers gripping tightly, turning pale as he remained silent for a long time.

“At that time, I was truly at my wit’s end, unlike now. I’m pushing to unlock levels; even without accidentally gaining special abilities, our chances of escaping would increase significantly. This is the best plan.”

Ye Nianchu felt the hand resting on her back clench into a fist. A faint smile crossed her lips as she continued, “If you abandoned me, with your strength, you could definitely escape.”

“I won’t.” Qin Mubai’s low voice whispered in her ear. “I won’t leave you behind.”

Qin Mubai also had serious injuries that needed attention. After removing his shirt, she saw wounds cut by spider silk, some still oozing blood.

As Ye Nianchu treated his wounds, she inevitably brushed against him, her gaze falling on the toned lines of his abdomen, and she suddenly thought of the phrase about how clothes can make one look slimmer but reveal more when taken off.

Feeling a bit awkward, she quickly looked away and focused on applying the medicine.

It wasn’t their first time seeing each other; in the previous game, there had even been a mermaid tail.

Yet Qin Mubai felt even more awkward. If they were somewhere else, away from this perilous jungle, he would want to pull her close.

As night fell, the surroundings darkened. They couldn’t continue moving at night, and the burning fire was conspicuous in the jungle.

They needed a safe place to stay until the game ended, but where in this jungle could be considered safe?

There was no longer a need to go to Shelter No. 1.

This spot was decent; at least there couldn’t be another BOSS den nearby.

At midnight, it was Ye Nianchu’s turn to rest when the system’s voice suddenly rang out:

[Countdown to announce the positions of the top three players: 8:00:00.]

Sure enough, the idea of just waiting in one place until the game ended was dashed.

No wonder they wanted to prohibit her from using her abilities again; it was preparing to announce their locations.

What kind of time was this to release a notification, making it impossible to find a hiding spot in the middle of the night?

Ye Nianchu closed her eyes and, after such a long battle, fell asleep instantly.

---

The next day.

Knowing that the game system would announce the positions of the top three players, Ye Nianchu woke up around six.

Translation Update! 🍙 Translation Update! 🍙 ✨ Quick note: English isn't my first language, so please understand there might be some typos or awkward phrasing - I'm doing my best! ✨ Hey everyone, just a quick update: As of today, April 28, 2025 , I want to give you all a heads-up about a few small issues you might come across in the story, specifically with some of the prop names. It's not exactly a typo issue—it's more about changes I've made over time. For instance, I originally used the term 'data concealment number' but later changed it to 'number concealment data.' Since these are just prop names in the story, it's not a major issue for the plot, but I totally get that some of you might find it a little annoying if you're really particular about details. ...

cysvhhz Chapter 1

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...
