Although Liu Shuyao felt disappointed that her plans hadn’t worked out, she didn’t dare waste any time, since she was here on a mission.

“Teacher Wu’s requirements still mainly highlight a refreshing approach.”

Liu Shuyao took out a small notebook and read through the requirements one by one.

“It needs to combine the theme of the 70th anniversary of the school, vibrant and professional.”

“The colors should be bright and grand.”

“...”

“And finally, there’s only one month for the timeline. Is that feasible?”

“Ugh~”

The chubby guy gasped at this, realizing the time pressure was intense; it really didn’t leave them much breathing room!

Xiang Ran, however, remained calm. After all, not much time was left until the anniversary, and once the development was completed, the art department would need time to adjust various exhibits based on the project’s content.

“What about the specific presentation format?”

Liu Shuyao shook her head, feeling confused. They had never done something like this before, and she wasn’t sure what methods were available.

“How about doing a digital display or a CG animation?”

“Hmm?”

Liu Shuyao was somewhat familiar with CG animations, but the digital display was more unfamiliar to her.

Xiang Ran quickly typed a few keys on his computer, opened a folder, and projected it onto the screen. Inside were two simple proposals.

He knew that Liu Shuyao might not have a concrete imagination of what he was suggesting, so he had drawn two prototypes overnight.

“The CG animation can be used to promote the art department’s characteristics and historical achievements in line with the anniversary.”

“It will involve script design, modeling, animation production, lighting rendering, and final editing.”

“What about the technical aspects?”

“You’ll provide a few images and a well-written script, and we’ll handle the rest.”

Liu Shuyao nodded, jotting down the plan, but felt that the CG animation format was somewhat limited.

“If it’s CG animation, doesn’t it feel a lot like a promotional video?” she voiced her concern.

“True, but we can make it visually appealing.”

“So it’ll just loop during the exhibition?”

Xiang Ran nodded.

With CG animations, there really wasn’t much to showcase.

Liu Shuyao nodded again and continued taking notes.

Once she finished, Xiang Ran opened another prototype.

“For the digital display, we need to consider how to combine art with data visualization to showcase relevant information and statistics about the art department.”

“For the artistic aesthetic, you can refer to various directions like abstract, impressionism, modern art, and apply them to the background, colors, and graphic elements of the display.”

“This also refines what we discussed the other day.”

“Wow~”

Liu Shuyao clearly preferred the second proposal, letting out a soft exclamation.

“Awesome, Brother Ran!”

“So yesterday while we were finishing the group project, you were secretly working overtime on the proposal, huh?”

“Did you guys stay up really late last night?”

Liu Shuyao asked softly.

The chubby guy nodded vigorously: “We probably went to bed around two or three! Brother Ran must’ve worked until four or five.”

No wonder his dark circles were so pronounced.

Liu Shuyao felt a pang of sympathy, her eyes glistening as she looked at Xiang Ran.

Xiang Ran felt uncomfortable under her gaze and quietly pushed his chair back a bit. He then shot a glare at the chubby guy, silently reprimanding him for speaking out of turn.

The chubby guy finally understood Xiang Ran’s hint but stubbornly glared back.

“What do you know! I’m helping you!”

“I’m just trying to speak highly of you so Liu Shuyao sees your efforts and changes her impression of you!”

Xiang Ran was utterly dumbfounded.

What did that even mean?

Was there no normal person left in this room?

“Stop it!”

Xiang Ran was completely exasperated by the chubby guy’s wild thoughts and could only give him a threatening look.

With their silent communication over, they turned their attention back to the big screen.

Liu Shuyao, being studious, had noted down everything Xiang Ran mentioned.

As the meeting progressed into the later half, Xiang Ran asked, “Do you have any other thoughts to share?”

“Hmm...”

Liu Shuyao focused her attention on the two proposals.

“I personally lean toward the second one, but if we could add some more innovative visual effects, like a virtual gallery display, wouldn’t that be better?”

She expressed her thoughts.

“Virtual gallery?”

“Yeah, it would break the traditional exhibition layout and arrangement by referencing how artworks are showcased in conventional galleries. We could try new display methods, like a floating experience!”

After hearing about the digital display concept, ideas began to form in her mind.

She quickly found some similar concept images on the computer.

“Wow!”

“This is great! It has that new media art vibe! It feels like it’s moving.”

The chubby guy hadn’t had any strong opinions initially; after all, in the computer science department, such large displays usually followed fixed patterns with little variation. Although Brother Ran had added some graphic elements, it still felt lacking.

“Brother Ran’s proposal was all stiff data, but incorporating Liu Shuyao’s idea would make it much better.”

“What do you think?”

After he spoke, he glanced at Xiang Ran.

Upon hearing this, Xiang Ran was also surprised; he found Liu Shuyao’s description quite vivid and innovative.

He thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

He really appreciated this interactive discussion; a good project needed ideas from various perspectives, allowing for better adjustments in the early stages rather than waiting until the end to realize something was off, which wasted time.

“Sounds good.”

“Right now, we’re considering these two formats. You can go back and discuss with Teacher Wu to see if we can finalize one of these options.”

“If we choose the second one, I’ll refine it based on your ideas, and we can discuss what needs to be added.”

Liu Shuyao didn’t expect her thoughts would actually be adopted; she initially thought Xiang Ran was just asking casually.

After all, she knew nothing about technical aspects!

The approval made her feel a little secretly happy!

---

After everything that needed to be said was addressed, Xiang Ran quickly wrapped up the meeting.

“Alright, let’s call it a day.”

“Ah?”

“What?”

Xiang Ran finished and started turning off the projection, so fast that it left the other two startled.

“Is it really over?”

Liu Shuyao felt disoriented by the sudden end; it seemed like they hadn’t even finished their conversation.

The chubby guy was also a bit surprised. Although they still had homework to finish, it didn’t seem like they should rush like this. This wasn’t the typical workaholic attitude of Xiang Ran ?!

Could their relationship have soured to this point?

Even staying a minute longer felt unbearable.

“Are you in a hurry for a date?”

The chubby guy blurted out.

“Shut up!” Xiang Ran was taken aback.

“What?”

Liu Shuyao’s eyes widened in disbelief, nearly dropping the pen in her hand as she looked at the people beside her in confusion.

“Who am I dating?” Although Xiang Ran didn’t have any particular feelings toward Liu Shuyao at the moment, he felt such comments shouldn’t be thrown around.

Yet the chubby guy remained unfazed.

“Turing, of course~”

Huff...

Huff...

One chubby guy, two flustered individuals.

Xiang Ran frowned and opened the door to leave, while the chubby guy finally sensed something was off and hurried after him.

“Hey~ Who do you think I’m talking about? With your mind constantly buried in code, which girl would want to date you?”

Liu Shuyao, following behind them, naturally heard this remark.

Looking down, her fingers touched each other as she quietly protested:

“Me~

I would~”

Today, she was carrying a single-shoulder cloth bag without a zipper, and looking down, she could see a half-page drawing wedged between her notebook and the bag.

Her thoughts were both bright and hidden...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post

Jiang Yan was awakened by the mechanical broadcast of the main system. In the desolate mountain forest blanketed by thick snow, a mechanical voice echoed: [Dungeon: "Sheep's Forest," Progress: 20%] [Player: Li Xue, Escape Progress: 50%] The distant sky was a heavy gray, surrounded by gnarled black branches resembling the haunting spirits of a graveyard. Amid the howling wind, there seemed to be the growls of wild beasts. At this moment, Jiang Yan was asleep in the loft of a small wooden cabin deep in the forest, covered with a duck down comforter and lying on a soft velvet blanket. The fireplace in the room was burning brightly, filling the air with the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts, while the raging wind and snow outside were of no concern to him. "Why has the dungeon progress still only been 20% after five days? How many are left alive now?" Jiang Yan nestled deeper into the comforter, lazily asking. "Oh, Ancestor, you’re awake?" the syst

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door

On the weekend, it was time for the second-year students of the School of Science to move dormitories. The hallway on the third floor of Building Seven was bustling with noise, filled with voices, footsteps, and the clattering of suitcase wheels rolling over the floor, creating a chaotic and irritating atmosphere. Lu Yuxing’s daily necessities were mostly simple, so he didn’t have many belongings. Aside from his bed, he managed to pack everything into a few large boxes. He finished organizing his things earlier than the other two and pushed his suitcase to Dorm 323 ahead of time. Dorm 323 had previously been occupied by fourth-year students. After the seniors graduated in July, it remained empty, which saved Lu Yuxing and his friends a lot of hassle when changing dorms. The dorm was quite empty; apart from some dust on the desk and bed, it was overall clean. The large tiled floor was very accommodating for those with obsessive-compulsive tendencies, perfectly fitting the preferences

Shang Jue pushed Lu Yuxing down from his chest. Lu Yuxing wrapped his arms around his waist, keeping him in place. “I’ll be careful this time,” he said, lowering his head again to kiss him gently for a long time. After what felt like an eternity, they parted. Shang Jue noticed Lu Yuxing's flushed face and damp lips up close, feeling a sudden awkwardness. He cleared his throat. Kissing a dog with memories feels different. Lu Yuxing warmly held him, a smile curling at the corners of his lips. Shang Jue couldn’t help but doubt whether the person in front of him was the same as half an hour ago. He raised his hands, pinching Lu Yuxing’s cheeks and pulling at them. Remembering that he was still carrying a pot on his back, he started to unhappily hold him accountable. “You said I was fishing for you. What exactly did I do to fish you?” Lu Yuxing hadn’t expected Shang Jue to bring this up at that moment. As Shang Jue tugged at his face, Lu Yuxing tilted his head but didn’t break
