In the end, he could only watch as the two of them left. After playing many rounds of the game, he knew that people only worked together when both could benefit.
Instead of relying on teammates, it was better to start a fire and burn the bugs to save himself. If he was lucky and his wound didn’t get infected, he still had a chance.
Behind a tree, Ye Nianchu took out some insect repellent and sprayed it on herself and Qin Mubai a few times. They had already sprayed it on themselves in the morning, but she thought it was safer to apply more.
In the supplies given at the start of the game, there was only one bottle of insect repellent. Both she and Qin Mubai had taken it, and it should last them a few days.

After a whole day, they didn’t find much.
Before dusk, Ye Nianchu and Qin Mubai found a good spot to camp. They checked the area to make sure it was safe before setting up their tent.
The rainforest was hot and humid during the day, but it cooled down a bit at night, making it more comfortable.
Ye Nianchu added dry leaves to the fire. “It seems the game area is bigger than we thought.”
“True,” Qin Mubai nodded.
So far, they had met only three other players.
Going downhill would eventually lead them to water, but they couldn’t be sure if it was clean. It might be a waste of time, but they had no choice but to keep searching.
The game had to have clean water sources.
They didn’t even dare to use too much water to cook instant noodles.
“Sister, I’ll keep watch for the second half of the night,” Qin Mubai said, looking up.
“Okay.”
Even while eating instant noodles in such a place, their natural elegance didn’t fade.
Not far away, in the bushes, a few people watched the camp with greedy eyes.
While they could only eat compressed biscuits and save their water, the two across from them were cooking noodles over a fire and had a tent—they clearly had a lot of supplies.
If they could take those supplies, they wouldn’t have to worry about food and water for the next couple of days.
“When do we attack?” a man’s voice asked.
He was eager to take down those two. During the day, they had killed a lone player and gotten only one bottle of water and two bags of noodles—not enough for their group of four.
“Don’t rush. Wait until they relax,” another voice said quietly. “First, capture the guy, and after we get the supplies, we’ll kill both of them for points.”

In the deep night, the rainforest was very quiet, and the thick leaves hid the shining stars.
Ye Nianchu had just laid down when she heard footsteps on the leaves. It was soft, but for the two of them, who were alert, the intruders weren’t being very sneaky.
Points offered easily shouldn’t be ignored.
“Be careful not to damage the tent,” a voice called from outside.
The man outside slowly pulled the tent flap down, and the three ambushers smiled.
But in the next second, the man with the knife was kicked back and crashed hard to the ground.
Qin Mubai stepped out of the tent first, and Ye Nianchu followed with a flashlight. The intruders were blinded by the bright light and instinctively raised their hands to cover their eyes.
It looked like these people didn’t have much.
The tall man glanced at his half-conscious teammate on the ground and shouted, “Take down those two! The supplies are ours!”
He lunged at Ye Nianchu with his knife, while the other two surrounded Qin Mubai.
