npc 142

Jiang Yan had just wanted to ask what this thing was for and why it had appeared here, but a strange and inexplicable sense of dread pulled his gaze back to the sky that was still collapsing. He saw that as the players poured in their strength, the golden web grew far tougher, yet the collapse of the dungeon remained irreversible, and chunks of data glowing a ghostly blue continued to fall from the sky. As more and larger data blocks fell, the golden web holding up the sky gradually tightened. The threads, under extreme pressure, grew thinner and thinner, lighter and lighter in color. It was clear it was reaching its limit. “No…” Jiang Yan instinctively looked toward the [Divine System] on his personal system panel. It was a primal instinct embedded in his DNA, prompting him to draw on the players’ power of belief. At this moment, the players floating beneath the golden web were arguing in the flurry of falling rose petals about why Jiang Yan, who should have already become par...

Sweet Note

Hey everyone! 💖

So, this is another novel I accidentally bought last month. I ended up buying 2 by mistake, and if you’ve been following my updates, I mentioned I’d translate it even though it was an accidental purchase. But honestly, when I read it, it was actually pretty good!

A bit about me: I’m not a gamer, I’m a total nerd. I don’t really play games. I’m more into studying or when I’m bored, I write fanfic or translate things. So, I’m not super familiar with terms like midlaner, jungler, or AD. If you spot any mistakes in the translation, please let me know! 😅

So, please be kind! The updates might be a little slow, but I’ll do my best to keep up. Thank you so much for your patience! Stay tuned for more!

The match froze on the screen showing a failure, and the barrage of comments exploded instantly.

[Wow, Bai Yu, you really dared to lose?]

[Top 16???]

[Honestly, you might as well not even make it to the World Championship.]

[Who am I, where am I, why am I watching this match?]

[You’ve never won against Out!!]

[I knew this was going to happen when the draw came out.]

[Holy crap, fans are still defending him? What advantage does he have other than looking better than the opponent?]

[Bai Yu, just retire already!!]

This wasn't Bai Yu's first loss to FLG, but it was every single time!

The opponent, known as the "Assistance God" Out, was simply Bai Yu’s nemesis. Since his heartbreaking second-place finish in his first year, Bai Yu seemed to be cursed. No matter whether it was the intercontinental finals, the World Championship, group stages, or even friendlies or scrims... Bai Yu had never won against FLG!

This year, when the final group draw for the Swiss rounds came out, and they realized Bai Yu would face FLG again, everyone had a bad feeling.

But thinking about it, FLG's form wasn’t great this year. They almost didn’t even make it into the World Championship, while Bai Yu had been in the World Championship every year and never fallen before the top 16. With the added buffs, everyone chose to believe in him one more time. But after staying up until 2 a.m., Bai Yu was beaten 2:0 without any resistance.

In London, the early morning air was chilling.

The commentator, who had been emphasizing "there’s still a chance," fell silent, unsure of what to say.

Back then, Bai Yu, the prodigy who amazed the world with his absolute awareness, who stood out in his debut year... Who would have thought that one day he would fall to the top 16?

Fans were furious.

Everyone had been waiting for him to fall from grace, and here he was, actually falling.

Yes, everyone knew that he was getting older, that it was normal for him to be slower, but at least fight for some dignity in this match? Losing to an old rival was one thing, but being knocked out in the top 16 was another!

The barrage was in full force, as if trying to tear Bai Yu apart.

Outside, a heavy rain poured down. The weather was cold and damp, and the audience who had come from afar to watch Bai Yu in London felt as though they could die of despair. The scene was chaotic, and numerous reporters surrounded the exits, all hoping to get the first update from Bai Yu to give everyone an explanation.

The interview was broadcasted live, and through the shaky camera, the first to step out was the security and manager, followed by Bai Yu, protected and surrounded by people.

He wore a blue-and-white team uniform, tall and easy to spot in the crowd. He seemed thinner compared to last year.

As the lights flashed on his face, his slightly pursed lips were as red as blood, his complexion pale. His uniform had become wrinkled in the crowd, but even so, it couldn’t hide the unique aura around him.

Bai Yu had a strange physique. From his debut, he was pushed to the top, maintaining his popularity for a long time. Even as he declined, there were still countless fans crying out for one more chance for him.

In such a situation, any other player would have been booed off the stage and forced to retire on the spot.

But as Bai Yu appeared, all the memories came rushing back—his low points, his rise, his glory days, every moment on stage, every wave he controlled, each iconic play. All of it vividly flashed before everyone’s eyes...

Back then, Bai Yu was like a god!

He was the only player to ever win the World Championship FMVP as a support player!

He was the most desired support by all the top-tier professional players in the world—without exception!

Back then, in his platinum battle attire, surrounded by god players, Bai Yu stood at the center as the sole support player, confidently and calmly leaving an indelible mark on the world!

But now, seeing him with a dark expression, no longer the same bold and confident person, fans felt a sharp pain in their hearts.

Time is the cruelest thing in esports. No matter how legendary a player is, they will eventually fade into mediocrity. The honor of LPL, the gods who once struck fear into the world, and now Bai Yu, all gradually disappeared... until they were no longer seen...

Actually, when you think about it, every time Bai Yu initiated a team fight, there was some logic behind it.

But just as some were about to forgive him, someone suddenly grabbed a megaphone and shouted, “Bai Yu, I fcking despise you! You’re just a vase, useless! If you can still win a championship, I’ll shove my head in the toilet and kick it for you!!”

The entire interview was broadcasted live, and every word he said was transmitted clearly to the entire world.

The crowd gasped!

It’s important to note that Bai Yu hated being called a "vase." The last person who dared to insult him in such a way had already been outclassed by his skills and couldn’t say anything for hundreds of years!

Bai Yu really had a tough time.

Back when he first debuted from the training camp, he was accidentally captured in a godlike side profile that sparked a huge debate across half of the esports world.

At just sixteen years old, with fair skin, clean features, and a focused gaze on the screen, his five features stood out. His face was so handsome that he didn’t look like a player, but more like a celebrity, which made him seem out of place in the esports world. Many people in the comments asked, “Which celebrity is this?”

Later, when it was revealed that he was a player from the training camp, all the fans were confused. “You have such a pretty face, why are you in esports instead of the entertainment industry?”

His popularity skyrocketed, and his team thought it was a good thing and started ramping up their publicity. However, this unexpectedly sparked a backlash, leading to widespread criticism.

Only skill could win respect, not looks!

There were constant rumors online questioning the team’s selection mechanism, even suggesting that Bai Yu was an entertainer using esports as a stepping stone for his career.

A massive online harassment campaign ensued, lasting for an entire year. It was shocking, and many who witnessed it couldn’t bear to watch. No matter who tried to speak up for him, they were immediately shut down!

Actually, Bai Yu’s skills weren’t bad at all, and many people inside the team felt sorry for him, but the overall situation was inevitable.

Almost everyone thought Bai Yu was finished.

Until that match appeared.

The noisy crowd was pushing and shoving, and the boy in the little red hat, who was watching this kind of match for the first time, looked at it with curiosity in his eyes: “What kind of match is this?”

The older brother beside him, wearing the same little red hat with “Fei Wu Travel Agency” written on it, dressed in a black shirt, wasn’t used to being crowded, so he intentionally found a corner to stand in. His face was hidden under the brim of the hat, and his tone was slow and pleasant: “It was a public match that everyone thought was insignificant, but it gave birth to a god-level genius.”

The seemingly ordinary public match happened to have a spot open in Bai Yu’s team, so they signed him up.

As a result, the organizers took the match seriously, giving it front-page coverage. Later, many teams sent out carefully selected rookies!

Before the match, the team leader grabbed Bai Yu, trembling: “You must perform well, I can’t take the blame.”

Bai Yu nodded obediently, but his expression seemed lackluster.

The outcome of that match, however, showed the world what a god-level support player looked like.

The boy in the little red hat didn’t quite understand: “What does a god-level support mean? He can’t deal damage like the mid laner or marksman, and he can’t dominate the battlefield like the top laner, nor roam the map like the jungler. So how does he win?”

The older brother laughed: “Do you know what a comeback team fight is?”

At that time, Bai Yu’s team didn’t care about the match. The players were all backups, and their gameplay was laughable.

No one took them seriously, and all the focus was on studying the other teams. But then, Bai Yu’s bottom lane initiated with his first ability, securing a kill and later with his management, Bai Yu pulled off three comebacks in team fights, forcing the enemy’s two support to end up with negative stats!

That was when people started to realize Bai Yu was special!

Various teams started researching his playstyle, and they found that his team fight initiations were unavoidable. Even if his teammates were clueless, Bai Yu still managed to land a few key blows!

What was even more amazing was that later on, the voice chat revealed he wasn’t even the team’s commander.

Throughout the entire match, he was under his teammates' inept command, yet he avoided all the wrong decisions and precisely initiated team fights, leading to overwhelming victories!

The older brother’s tone became light when talking about that match: “That feeling was so shocking, it was my first time experiencing it. Hmm... how should I describe it? It was like his decisions had reached a level of mastery where he could see things that others couldn’t.”

The boy in the little red hat racked his brain but couldn’t imagine it, “Then what happened next?”

As the matches continued, his coordination with AD became better and better. His teammates began to rely on his leadership, and Bai Yu’s rise to prominence truly began!

Every match, every team fight, became material for crazy discussions.

Those who held the power, with their systems and control, could do nothing to compete with him.

Bai Yu, leading a team with no weaknesses, made it all the way to the end, defeating elite teams that thought they had victory in the bag.

After that match, voices on the internet began to change. Bai Yu had more and more chances to play, quickly rising from the second team to the main roster, and securing a starting spot. He then became known for his incredible initiations and terrifying tactics, sweeping through LPL’s top teams and advancing to the World Championship, creating the LPL legend.

In an era when the “support is useless” theory was prevalent, Bai Yu silenced all doubters, and even the organizers paid tribute to him by creating a commemorative icon in his honor.

At that time, there was a saying: “As long as Bai Yu is on the team, the bottom lane will always win.”

From then on, whenever Bai Yu’s name was mentioned, people always admired his skills, and his appearance was no longer a topic of discussion.

The photo that had once led to his brutal online bashing eventually became a symbol of admiration for many, and even when Bai Yu’s career started to decline, there were always fans crying out for his forgiveness.

What no one expected was that it took Bai Yu ten years to get to where he is now, and he ended up losing everything.

Bai Yu’s steps slowly came to a stop. His gaze swept across the crowd, a bit melancholic, and then he smiled casually before disappearing into the crowd with his team.

A parabola flew through the crowd, heading straight for him.

Just as it was about to hit, the quick-witted security guard blocked it. Then, in the shaking camera footage, Bai Yu’s blue-and-white, slim figure suddenly collapsed forward...

Fans: ???

Damn! Losing the match was one thing, but now he’s faking injury too!

Note

Hi, I just want to clear something up because I feel like anyone who is not a gamer might be confused (me as well, I'm not really a gamer).

So, from what I gather from the spoilers, the top is 6 years younger, by the way. He is 20. Bai Yu is 26.

And LPL stands for League of Legends Pro League. They are playing LoL (League of Legends).

FMVP stands for "Finals Most Valuable Player". It is an award given to the player who is deemed the most impactful and valuable during the championship or finals series of a tournament. So yeah, Bai Yu got this World Championship FMVP.

cysvhhz Chapter 1

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

✨ Notice: Editing in Progress ✨ Hi everyone! This story is currently undergoing editing. If you don’t mind, feel free to proceed and read it as is. However, if you prefer a polished version, I recommend waiting until next week. 💖 As of today, December 27, 2024 , I’m still working on fixing chapters 1 to 35 . The writer rewrote the entire Arc 2 (chapters 17 to 35) , but I’m starting from chapter 1 , as my past translations were a bit confusing and need improvement. 🛠️ I estimate that all edits will be completed by January 9, 2025 . Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! 🌸 Jiang Yan was awakened by the broadcast of the main system. In a vast mountain forest covered in thick snow, a mechanical broadcast echoed: [Instance: “The Sheep’s Forest,” Progress: 20%] [Player: Li Xue, Escape Progress: 50%] In the distance, the sky was dark and oppressive. Around him, gnarled, claw-like dead branches loomed like gravestones, haunting and ghostly. Amid ...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...
