“Could they be hiding in there?”
The more she thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. That place might be inaccessible to others, but not necessarily to two high-ranked players.
“Instead of guessing, why don’t we just go down and see? That way, we’ll know for sure,” He Miao stepped forward, having observed from the shadows.
“Easier said than done. How are we supposed to descend without a rope? With this rushing water, if we fall, we won't even be able to recover the bodies. You go first if you think it's so easy,” the team leader replied.
It seemed like the woman wanted someone else to scout ahead as bait.
“With only an hour and a half left in the game, there are plenty of vines in the rainforest,” He Miao countered.
Her idea wasn’t bad. The players began searching for vines, but no one was willing to be the first to go down.
If the opponents were indeed hiding there, whoever went down would die.
Some players couldn’t help but fire a couple of shots; the bullets merely struck the stones at the entrance, proving useless.
He Miao stood by, coldly watching the hole. If only she had a grenade, she could climb a bit and then toss it inside; the opponents wouldn’t stand a chance.
Unfortunately, the only grenade had already been used.

Meanwhile,
Ye Nianchu watched as Qin Mubai slowly approached the hole with his gun, surprised. “You still have bullets?”
“Yeah, saved one for her,” Qin Mubai’s low voice replied. When he looked at Ye Nianchu, his eyes clearly sought praise.
She raised her hand to ruffle his hair but, in the cramped darkness, instead touched his face.
It was unintentional.
Qin Mubai aimed at the dark silhouette above.
Bang—
The shot hit its mark, and He Miao fell into the pool, her face filled with disbelief and resentment.
How did they still have bullets?
When she had fled earlier, she shot at Ye Nianchu, deliberately exposing a flaw to see if they had any bullets left.
She had left such an obvious opening, yet they hadn’t shot at her, leading her to believe that the two were out of ammunition.
He Miao couldn’t pinpoint where she had lost, as her strength usually meant others were eager to team up with her—except this time.
The other players watched in horror as He Miao fell, retreating in shock, relieved they hadn’t stepped forward.
The rushing water carried her away, and her figure soon vanished beneath the surface.
Qin Mubai frowned; he hadn’t received a system notification, which meant she could still be alive, swept away by the current.
The sound of flowing water echoed around them. A triangular head emerged from a crevice in the stones inside the cave, a long and slender body darting towards Qin Mubai's hand like lightning.
Qin Mubai raised his gaze slightly, reaching out to grab the snake and fling it against the rock wall.
The snake's insides were crushed, lying motionless on the ground.
Ye Nianchu felt a chill run down her spine. She turned on the flashlight and aimed it inside the cave, then quickly took off her backpack to block all the gaps with clothing, using a knife to push the snake’s body into the pool.
The players above already knew they were there, whether they turned on their flashlights or not.
Qin Mubai calmly rolled up his sleeve. His reaction had been fast, but the fangs still left a wound on his wrist.
It was a shallow cut, but it was from a venomous snake.
As Ye Nianchu cleaned his wound, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of panic.
What if—
She didn’t dare to think further.
“It’s fine, sis,” Qin Mubai smiled, raising his hand to brush aside the stray hairs by her cheek. “There’s only an hour left until the game ends.”
Ye Nianchu felt the chill of his hand; this place was already damp and cold.
