The tightly woven spider silk overlapped to form a massive cocoon, completely trapping them inside, with not a single gap in sight.

The face spider moved across the silk, its gaze occupied by the white strands and countless eerie human faces.

Beside Qin Mubai lay the corpses of numerous face spiders, blood seeping through his clothes. He raised his eyes to the face spider above, remaining calm in such a perilous situation, his eyes showing no sign of turmoil, rational and composed.

[Player Unlock Level: 38.]

As the silk touched their bodies, it tightened, slicing into their skin and drilling into their flesh. They could only protect their vital areas and hold on, searching for a chance that might not even exist.

If they didn’t find a way to escape soon, exhaustion would turn this place into their final resting point.

Ye Nianchu gritted her teeth and cut through the silk that entangled her arm.

“Are you really not leaving?” Qin Mubai looked at her intently, his gaze more focused than ever.

Ye Nianchu gasped for breath, shaking her head. “The system said I can explore and unlock levels on my own.”

If someone had to forcefully break through the limits, it should be her.

She would raise her unlock level higher, shatter the balance, and wouldn’t die for breaking the rules.

But if Qin Mubai forced his abilities, he might.

The space they could retreat into was shrinking rapidly; just as she severed the silk around her, new strands quickly filled the gaps.

These face spiders didn’t even need to act directly; their silk could suffocate them.

The entire rainforest seemed to boil over, all the insects and rodents scurrying like headless flies, while the face spiders crawled swiftly among the trees, searching for human figures.

Qin Mubai was bound by the silk; every movement he made drove the strands deeper into his flesh. Yet, he carelessly hacked at the silk in front of Ye Nianchu, blood droplets sliding down and staining the surrounding strands crimson.

He shielded Ye Nianchu, his body already covered in blood.

Ye Nianchu felt a tightness in her chest, a suffocating discomfort, her heart clenching painfully.

At that moment, the face spiders seemed to lose patience, one after another charging forward.

Ye Nianchu stepped up, drawing several face spiders away. The spiders would target her first; as long as she didn’t stand next to Qin Mubai, the danger to him would be minimized.

“Sister!”

Qin Mubai’s pupils constricted sharply. Just as he took a step forward, the dense silk crisscrossed, blocking his path.

Ye Nianchu took a deep breath, gripping her knife, fighting desperately against the attacks of the face spiders. When she could no longer evade, she would shoot to kill the spiders.

Only one bullet remained.

[Player Unlock Level: 39.]

[Player Unlock Level: 40.]

At that moment, the system’s electronic voice sounded like divine music, her unlock level skyrocketing to 45.

Not enough.

Ye Nianchu endured the agonizing pain as if her bones were shattering, her heart racing, reaching the limit of what she could bear.

[Warning! Player has violated rules. Please stop immediately!]

Ye Nianchu numbly swung her short knife, ignoring the system's warning.

[Player Unlock Level: 47.]

The unlock level continued to rise.

Today, even if the King of Heaven himself came, she would not stop her intention to break the balance.

[Warning! Forcibly using special abilities constitutes a serious violation. Please stop immediately!]

The wounds on Ye Nianchu's body, where the blood had already clotted, all split open, and blood soaked her clothes once more.

The humid air around them was starting to cool.

Translation Update! 🍙 Translation Update! 🍙 ✨ Quick note: English isn't my first language, so please understand there might be some typos or awkward phrasing - I'm doing my best! ✨ Hey everyone, just a quick update: As of today, April 28, 2025 , I want to give you all a heads-up about a few small issues you might come across in the story, specifically with some of the prop names. It's not exactly a typo issue—it's more about changes I've made over time. For instance, I originally used the term 'data concealment number' but later changed it to 'number concealment data.' Since these are just prop names in the story, it's not a major issue for the plot, but I totally get that some of you might find it a little annoying if you're really particular about details. ...

cysvhhz Chapter 1

“Bang—” The air trembled, and bright light hit Gu Zhan's eyelids, making him squint. “Patient 707 has been admitted.” A cold female voice sounded. Patient 707? Who? Gu Zhan squinted against the blinding light and realized he was lying down under a surgical shadowless lamp. Next to him stood several people in deep green surgical scrubs, their faces obscured by the light. One of them leaned over to look at him; the blue medical mask covered most of his features, leaving only a pair of narrow, dark eyes visible. He said, “707 has woken up. Administer a sedative.” A syringe pierced the back of Gu Zhan's hand, and the cold liquid flowed in, gradually blurring his consciousness... ... “Crash—” “Bang!” The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply. A metal bed was forcefully pushed away, sliding a great distance before crashing against the wall. Gu Zhan's head struck the bed frame heavily, and the intense pain momentarily brought him back to awareness. Then came the sound of a door ...

The broadcast from the main system echoed throughout the instance. In the pitch-black snowy night, accompanied by the eerie howling wind of the ebony forest, Jiang Yan felt utterly disoriented. The "Hunter" in front of him couldn’t hear the main system’s intrusive voice and was still waiting for his "little sheep" to kiss him. However, Jiang Yan simply reached out, gently touched the demon-like ram horns of the "Hunter," and then unhesitatingly pulled the blanket over his head. Hunter: "...So disobedient." Soon after, a kiss landed softly on the top of Jiang Yan's head. A pair of long, broad hands rested on his waist as the "Hunter" drifted into slumber. Meanwhile, the game forum’s players erupted into an explosive celebration: [I’m dying of laughter! What kind of penalty is this?? It’s my first time hearing such a ridiculous deduction reason!] [“Please immediately kiss the BOSS.” What the heck? Hahaha...] [This will go down...

Jiang Yan ignored 663, curling up under the blanket like a quail. The "Hunter" holding him would occasionally rub his head, seemingly captivated by the texture. Jiang Yan obediently played the role of a "pet." Based on his years of watching horror movies and reading scary stories, he knew that being "clever" or "kind-hearted" in such games only led to quicker deaths. "You still have five days," the Hunter said, savoring the softness and compliance of the person in his arms. His pale, pupil-less eyes glinted with pleasure. Although a sheep's head couldn't show human expressions, it was clear he was smiling. Hearing this, the four people huddled in the cage shivered in unison. Only Wang Yu sat blankly by the edge, tears streaming as he gazed at his lover. The "Cops and Robbers" Game The "Hunter" acted as the cop, giving the players (the "robbers") ten days to escape the forest. If they found t...

In early September, during a Mathematical Analysis class at A University of Science and Technology, the sophomore students were noticeably distracted. The young professor at the podium glanced down and spotted a large group of students engrossed in their phones. Though he wasn’t a high school teacher, he couldn’t help but lament inwardly: “This generation is worse than the last. Even in Math Analysis class, they dare to slack off?” He could already envision the dismal outcomes on the final grades. Clearing his throat somewhat theatrically, he still received no attention. Growing annoyed, the professor resolved to be tough with the grades this year to combat this poor attitude. At the back of the classroom, Ge Zhicheng's heart raced as he continuously refreshed the backend of the academic system's page. What the professor didn’t know was that today was the day for second-year students in the College of Science to be reassigned to dormitories; the assignment list would be post...
