Thousands of piranhas were gnawing at a body, exposing white bones on bare arms.
The few people who stayed on the boat felt a chill of fear.
Ye Nianchu quickly spotted Qin Mubai in the river.
Not only him; none of the other players had weapons either.
This was a balancing mechanism: the higher the level and points, the less likely players were to start with weapons.
With so many piranhas in the water, escaping was tough without a weapon.
There was no time.
“Catch!”
Ye Nianchu pulled a short knife from her backpack, took a couple of steps forward, and threw it to Qin Mubai.
Just then, someone pushed her from behind.
She glanced at the closest man and woman, quickly grabbed the long-haired girl’s arm, and swapped their positions.
Splash—
The long-haired girl fell into the river.
Qin Mubai reached out and caught the knife, glaring at the two who had pushed Ye Nianchu. A cold smile appeared on his lips, showing his intent.
Ye Nianchu turned and kicked the tall, thin man beside her.
He slammed against the cabin wall, making the boat rock.
“Will you jump in yourself, or should I help you?” she challenged.
The man sneered. “You all saw it. She has a weapon and knows that guy. Teaming up is just a cover to steal supplies.”
Hearing this, the others shifted uncomfortably.
Whether true or not, having one less person meant more supplies for them.
As Qin Mubai fought off the piranhas blocking his way, he moved toward the back of the boat. The piranhas grazed his waist, but he didn’t even flinch.
The others in the water initially wanted to swim closer to the back of the boat, but seeing him approach, they quickly swam toward the opposite bank.
The first person to jump out, wanting to take charge and claim supplies, was swiftly killed by Qin Mubai.
---
The long-haired girl climbed back up, two piranhas hanging from her arm. She pulled them off painfully, glaring at Ye Nianchu.
“We’re all on the same boat; fighting won’t help. Let’s talk when we reach the shore,” He Miao said.
Ye Nianchu nodded slowly. “That makes sense, but he has to go down.”
As soon as she finished, another splash—the man was kicked into the river.
The piranhas quickly surrounded him.
“What’s the meaning of this? Are you provoking us?” the long-haired girl said angrily.
She wanted to wait until they reached the shore, but didn’t expect Ye Nianchu to be so bold.
“Aren’t you two the ones provoking?”
With the act dropped, Ye Nianchu said, “I’ll only take a portion of the supplies.”
“You probably don’t plan to stay in our team. Distributing supplies might…” He Miao spoke carefully.
The long-haired girl scoffed. “You think you can just ask for supplies?”
Ye Nianchu smiled lightly, her tone calm. “You think I’m negotiating with you?”
“Still not making a move? Are you really going to let her take the supplies first?” the long-haired girl said again.
The others surrounded her, but He Miao stayed back, neither attacking nor stopping.
Seeing someone pull out a short knife, Ye Nianchu smiled.
A weapon, nice.
She quickly intercepted the attack, disarmed her opponent, and tossed them into the river.
Qin Mubai finished off two more in the water with two strikes, then jumped onto the deck, his icy gaze fixed on the remaining people.
